• Engine Test Bench Expert

Job Responsibility:

1.


Coordinate for preparing test bench planning for process, equipments, layouts and engineering change management for new products / changes in existing products:

• Planning and execution of new Projects including installation and commissioning of new engine models / variants on hot and cold test bench.
• Coordinate with MBAG colleagues for new engine/ variant introduction to understand requirements for new products in terms of process changes, equipments and tools, and with Quality for quality requirements, and finalization of plans
• Investment planning and budget fulfillment for Hot and cold test bench
• Coordinate with Controlling for investments for new products; Prepare investment requisitions based on approvals from Controlling and Functional Head
• Liaise with Procurement for identifying suppliers for test benches, upgradation of test benches and provide scope of project and technical specifications
• Coordination with Hot and cold test bench suppliers for Project status and timely delivery of new project material/ equipments
• Liaise with Change Management Team for any changes in parts, process or equipments for changes required in existing test benches
• Identification and ordering of sample engines / components required for new engine commissioning.
• Execution of Hot and cold testing Projects with support from MBAG colleagues.

• Support the Incharge

• Process Planning in analyzing test bench capacity, process parameters, etc. preparing process plans, equipment plans and plans in reference to parts

2. Monitor installation & commissioning of new engine models / variants on Hot & cold test benches and start up coordination for new model introduction and support for final release of the product

• Coordinate with supplier for technical drawings, material requirement and deliver, and actual installation phase
• Monitor installation process to ensure conformity to drawings and specifications
• Collaborate with engine supplier for Production and Quality for final testing and release of new engines on cold and hot test benches

Be responsible for documentation and compliance:

• Ensure required documentation are completed
• Monitor investments for various projects
• Prepare reports on project status and provide to Incharge
• Process Planning and, if required, to Mercedes-Benz AG
• Liaison with Mercedes-Benz AG for technical enhancements in the existing test bench infrastructure
• Interact with Mercedes-Benz AG to understand the changeover of existing testing trolleys, requirement for upgradation of test benches if any
• Plan and execute the upgrading of existing engine test benches ( cold and Hot)

Other activities:

• Monitor and ensure documentation as per MBIL and Mercedes-Benz AG standards and compliance
• Study of new emission / fuel related regulations (OPF introduction, ethanol blending etc) and analyze impact on hot testing procedure of engines.
• Define GUSI test and Product Audit frequency in consultation with MBAG colleagues
• Participate in various forums and update the management on project development status
