Your field of responsibility


We are seeking a talented and dynamic individual who has hands on experience and expertise in working on large and high value payrolls and having control and compliance mindset with the ability to keep pace with the changing regulatory environment.

Reporting directly into the Asia Pacific Payroll Manager, you will take full accountability for delivering payroll including overseeing payroll vendors to ensure payroll is executed accurately, in a timely manner, and in compliance with applicable laws.

Responsibilities and Expectations

  • Responsible for managing end to end payroll for countries in the APAC region
  • Responsible for reviewing payroll reports generated by vendors, Pay checking and Monthly Payroll Signoff for multiple APAC countries.
  • Responsible for ensuring the statutory compliance and monitoring the statutory remittances to the authorities for multiple APAC countries.
  • Responsible for transaction validation via SOX controls check for the team members.
  • Responsible for managing Out of cycle salary increases, Letter generation, Severance calculations and accruals for global CS regions.
  • Ensure that all monthly, quarterly, yearly regulatory and internal reviews and signoffs are completed and that they meet all internal Credit Suisse requirements.
  • Maintain an effective customer service focus to resolve queries from employees, other HR functions and control partners as well as external parties such as local tax authority, payroll vendors
  • Responsible for delivering shadow payroll including overseeing payroll vendors to ensure shadow payroll is executed accurately, in a timely manner, in compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX), and international laws.
  • Engage with Global counterparts to ensure shadow payrolls are delivered both in Asia Pacific and, in home country, if applicable.
  • Provide Payroll advices to other HR functions or other internal stakeholders, and may include reviewing tax returns prepared by payroll vendors/tax accountants.
  • Responsible for reporting any control issue on a timely basis including working with control partners for reporting (both internally and externally) and resolutions.
  • Strive for operational excellence and always on the lookout for ideas to increase performance and own team's employee experience.
  • Establish key performance metrics and reporting cadence including quarterly and annual review to discuss performance, operational risks and improvements.
  • Responsible for delivering country payrolls working in collaboration with other team members, as and when required.

The Asia Pacific Payroll function is responsible for successfully delivering an accurate and timely payroll across all the locations in Asia Pacific, and in compliance with local laws and reporting requirements.

The Payroll team supports all employees and work closely with other HR functions, control partners and payroll vendors.

Your skills and experience
The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate a majority of the following criteria:

  • Experience in managing a team to deliver end-to-end payroll processes.
  • Extensive experience in building process documentation, process maps and devising controls.
  • Experience in process transition and transformation applying
  • Experience with payroll tax, social security agreements, and accounting including analyzing processes and controls, planning improvements, driving changes and managing priorities.
  • Knowledge of payroll principles, practices and procedures in Asia Pacific.
  • Experience with shadow payroll, international payroll, expatriate payroll, or business traveler payroll.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, ADP GlobalView or other payroll systems.
  • Minimum of 10 years of payroll experience in a fastpaced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Willing to learn and assist with other adhoc projects as necessary
