Purpose:

The Supervisor, Accounting will be responsible for supporting day-to-day functions and supervising a team of staff accountants.

In order to be successful in this role, you must have a "team player" mentality with a flexible and a collaborative approach to completing tasks, including "rolling up sleeves" and working alongside a team members as required.

Reports to (Title): Manager, Accounting and Operations


RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Supervise and train Staff Accountants (team of two and growing)
  • Oversee Staff Accountants' compliance to SOPs
  • Perform full cycle accounting (e.g., preparer role) for assigned clients depending on the team's workload which includes data entry, maintaining the general ledger, account reconciliations, financial statement preparation and analysis, accounts payable and payroll processing, sales tax analysis, etc.
  • Review and approve reconciliations/analysis prepared by Staff Accountants
  • Detail review and variance analysis of the Income Statement and Balance Sheet
  • Assist in training clients on accounting processes and software
  • Provide Client support: supervise client queries and requests (30+ Clients).
  • Assist in developing and documenting processes to advance efficiency and effectiveness (new and existing processes).
  • Adhoc requests as required.

QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES

  • Minimum 5 years related working experience required. Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience required
  • Technical accounting skills required (e.g., understanding of business transactions plus journal entries and their impact on the Income Statement and Balance Sheet, variance analysis, etc.)
  • Excellent communication skills in English (verbal and written) as this position has direct contact with Clients and Staff.
  • Ability to supervise the performance of staff accountants
  • Detail oriented and operates with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Excellent time management, multitasking and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage competing deliverables based on urgency and importance.
  • Processoriented with desire and track record to improve current processes
  • Enthusiastic, hardworking and has demonstrated initiative and motivation in taking ownership and accountability of responsibilities.
  • Prior experience in an accounting or auditing role an asset

Salary:
₹70, ₹100,000.00 per month
