    Description

    Job Title: Kitchen Supervisor (Indian Cuisine)

    Overview: We are seeking an experienced and passionate Kitchen Supervisor specialized in Indian cuisine to join our team. As a Kitchen Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our Indian kitchen, ensuring that food quality, consistency, and presentation meet our standards. You will also manage kitchen staff, organize food preparation, monitor inventory, and maintain a clean and organized workspace.

    Responsibilities:

    1. Menu Planning and Development: Collaborate with the Head Chef to plan and develop menus for Indian cuisine, ensuring authenticity, variety, and seasonal relevance.
    2. Food Preparation and Cooking: Oversee the preparation, cooking, and presentation of Indian dishes, ensuring adherence to recipes, portion sizes, and quality standards.
    3. Kitchen Management: Supervise kitchen staff, including chefs, cooks, and assistants, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback to ensure efficiency and excellence in food preparation.
    4. Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies specific to Indian cuisine, placing orders as needed to maintain sufficient stock levels while minimizing waste.
    5. Quality Control: Conduct regular inspections of food products to ensure freshness, taste, and presentation meet established standards, taking corrective action as necessary.
    6. Hygiene and Safety Compliance: Enforce strict hygiene, health, and safety standards in the kitchen, including proper food handling, storage, and sanitation practices, in accordance with regulations and company policies.
    7. Cost Control: Assist in managing food and labor costs by minimizing waste, controlling portion sizes, and optimizing kitchen operations without compromising on quality.
    8. Collaboration: Coordinate with other kitchen staff and restaurant management to ensure smooth operations, timely service, and customer satisfaction.
    9. Problem Solving: Address any kitchen-related issues or concerns promptly and effectively, implementing solutions to maintain operational efficiency and guest satisfaction.

    Requirements:

    1. Experience: Proven experience working as a Chef or Kitchen Supervisor specializing in Indian cuisine, with a deep understanding of traditional Indian cooking techniques, spices, and flavors.
    2. Culinary Skills: Proficiency in preparing a wide range of Indian dishes, including curries, tandoori items, biryanis, and desserts, with an emphasis on authenticity and presentation.
    3. Leadership Ability: Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire kitchen staff to achieve high performance and maintain morale in a fast-paced environment.
    4. Organization: Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and delegate responsibilities effectively to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
    5. Communication: Clear and effective communication skills, with the ability to communicate instructions, feedback, and expectations to kitchen staff and collaborate with other team members.
    6. Adaptability: Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed, and the ability to adapt to changing priorities and situations in a dynamic restaurant environment.
    7. Hygiene Certification: Certification in food safety and hygiene (e.g., ServSafe) preferred.
