Description

Experience with DevOps infrastructure and CI/CD environments required

Excellent understanding of Azure SQL with proven experience with performance monitoring, analysis, and tuning of relational databases. This includes the use of T-SQL, Query Store, hints, Dynamic Management Views, Azure Monitor SQL Insights, indexes, statistics, query plan analysis
Excellent knowledge of database backup and recovery in Azure Env
Knowledge of Azure high availability including Standard, Premium and Availability Zones
Familiarity with database design, documentation and coding, clustering, replication
Familiarity with programming languages including PL/SQL, TSQL, SSIS, PowerBI
Creating triggers, stored procedures, and complex join statements
High level of expertise in software development environments
Experience with secure programming in relation to stored procedures and functions
Administer databases with regards to efficiency, data security, user security, and system integrity
Enhance operational and performance monitoring, and alerting using New Relic and other tools
Provide ongoing performance improvements including:
Optimizing use of operational resources
Optimizing query performance through TSQL improvements, indexes, partitioning etc.
Performing automation of tasks
Establishing high availability configurations where appropriate
Ensuring highsecurity measures are implemented
Establish dashboards for realtime reporting on database metrics
Ensure that all database backup schedules are implemented and monitored for issues
Test database recovery periodically
Architect new transactional and data warehouse databases
Support development of creation of stored procedures, functions, and jobs as required
Improve DevOps pipelines and create jobs to make dev to QA environment progression more seamless
Develop standards, data definitions, documentation, and design of security systems
Produce and maintain highquality documentation including ERDs, architecture diagrams Assist with database load testing
Research and develop proof of concepts using latest database services like NO SQL, Azure Cosmos DB
Assist with production support issues related to database performance
