Description
Responsible for maintaining, repairing, troubleshooting, and installing mechanical equipment/systems for naval ships as assigned by the Foreman.


Responsibilities:


  • Conduct predelivery inspections of mechanical parts of vessels.
  • Diagnose marine mechanical problems.
  • Manage engine servicing including changing oil, filters, etc.
  • Identify problems for customers and provide recommendations.
  • Order parts and follow up on orders.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Diploma Certificate from an approved shipbuilding apprenticeship program in Marine Mechanics or a related field.
  • 3 years of experience in all phases of building, repair of commercial or military new construction vessels with specialized experience.

Job Specifications & Skills:

  • Strong experience in shipbuilding industry maintenance with knowledge of shipbuilding technology.
  • Good knowledge of different handtools and types of equipment required.
  • Ability to diagnose and identify mechanical issues in naval ships.
  • Ability to read technical diagrams and drawings.
  • Knowledge of shipbuilding maintenance.
  • Ability to understand mechanical and electrical drawings and technical manuals.
  • Knowledge of shipboard machinery, equipment, piping systems, propulsion systems, electrical systems, and navigation systems.

Experience:


  • Marine: 2 years (required)

Ability to Commute:

  • Cochin, Kerala (required)

Ability to Relocate:

  • Cochin, Kerala: Relocate before starting work (required)
