How this opportunity is different

The Strategy and Technology Group (STG) is a new initiative within Aon to deliver innovative consulting and technology solutions to its clients.

This is a great opportunity to join a growing group and to work with a highly skilled, collaborative team of actuarial and software experts who are using the latest technology to deliver next generation products for insurance markets.

Skills and experience that will lead to success

Key skills for this role include:

Strong Infrastructure as Code experience (Terraform preferred).
Familiarity with git version control
Familiarity with CI/CD approaches and pipelines (Azure DevOps/Octopus Deploy experience particularly)
The ability to work independently and know when to escalate or engage other teams for further support.
Strong written and verbal English communications skills.

In addition, the following are highly desirable

Strong familiarity with core Azure services (other cloud services beneficial) including Compute, Data, Storage, Networking, App Service, Monitoring/Analytics/Alerting, Identity and Security
HTTP including Web Servers (IIS preferred) and Reverse proxies / Load balancing / Encryption
SQL Server / Azure SQL
Scripting / Automation experience e.g. Powershell, Bash
Experience with issue management tooling e.g. Jira
Terraform including module creation, automated pipelines, secret management, state management and Testing experience
Configuration Management tools eg Puppet, Chef, Ansible, PowerShell DSC
