***: The Product Owner is a team-level position responsible for ensuring customer and stakeholder value is delivered by the development team. In doing so, the Product Owner strives to understand the current situation with the organization, its customers, problems, and the goals it is trying to achieve. From that understanding, the Product Owner is set out to meet our customer needs, identifying value and working towards achieving those values optimally by prioritizing the product backlog.

PERSONAL QUALITIES:

Healthcare platform experience
Strong product ownership experience
Technical background to communicate with developers
Strong communication both written and verbal

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide vision and direction to the Agile development team and stakeholders
Create requirements (User Stories) and ensure that the teams always have adequate amounts of prior prepared tasks to work on
Plan and prioritize product feature backlogs and development for the products
Communicate product vision, roadmap and growth opportunities
Assess value, develop cases, and prioritize stories, epics and themes to ensure work focuses on those with maximum value that are aligned with product strategy
Provide backlog management, iteration planning, and elaboration of the user stories
Work closely with Product Management to create and maintain a product backlog according to business value or ROI Lead the planning product release plans and set the expectation for delivery of new functionalities
Provide an active role in mitigating impediments impacting successful team completion of Release/Sprint Goals Research and analyze market, the users, and the roadmap for the product Follow our competitors and the industry
Collaborate with development team virtually and facetoface
Own team/product backlog and implementation

QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED:

Bachelor's degree, preferably in Computer Science or Engineering; if no degree, additional years of experience may suffice and/or product owner certification(s)
Strong communication, ownership, teamwork skills, adaptability, and flexibility
Experience working within an Agile Environment
Technical knowledge/background to the extent of being able to communicate with developers
Knowledge of Smartsheet and Jira is a plus.
The Department Head has the discretion to hire personnel with a combination of experience and education which may vary from the above listed qualifications._
