Job Overview:
The COMMI 1, also known as Commis Chef 1, is an entry-level culinary position in(Chinese, Indian, Tandoori)professional kitchen.

The primary responsibility of a COMMI 1 is to assist and support the higher-level chefs (sous chef, chef de partie, etc.) in food preparation and kitchen operations.

The role offers an excellent opportunity for aspiring chefs to gain hands-on experience and learn essential skills in a busy and dynamic culinary environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Must know these type of dishes: Indian, Chinese, Tandoori
  • Food Preparation: Assist in the preparation of various dishes, sauces, and ingredients under the guidance of senior chefs. Follow recipes and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistent quality.
  • Station Setup: Set up and organize the work station before and during service. Ensure all necessary ingredients, tools, and equipment are readily available for efficient workflow.
  • Cooking and Plating: Help with cooking and plating dishes according to the established standards and presentation guidelines.
  • Cleaning and Sanitation: Maintain a clean and organized work area. Adhere to strict hygiene and safety regulations, including proper food handling and storage practices.
  • Stock Management: Assist in monitoring inventory levels of kitchen supplies and ingredients. Report any shortages or discrepancies to senior staff.
  • Learning and Development: Show enthusiasm and eagerness to learn from senior chefs and gain valuable culinary knowledge. Take part in training programs and seek opportunities for skill enhancement.
  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth and efficient kitchen operations. Communicate effectively to ensure a cohesive team environment.
  • Requirements:
  • Culinary Education: A diploma or certification from a culinary school is preferred but not always required, as relevant work experience may be considered.
  • Work Experience: Previous experience as a kitchen helper, line cook, or in a similar role is an advantage.
  • Culinary Skills: Basic knowledge of culinary techniques and cooking methods. Passion for cooking and a desire to develop culinary expertise.
  • Adaptability: Ability to work in a fastpaced, highpressure environment and adapt to changing priorities and tasks.
  • Physical Stamina: The role requires standing for extended periods and performing physically demanding tasks.
  • Hygiene and Safety: Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations and a commitment to maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment.
  • Team Player: Strong teamwork and communication skills. Willingness to take direction from senior chefs and collaborate effectively with other kitchen staff.

Salary:
₹20, ₹25,000.00 per month
