This role provides leadership to link the business mission, strategy, and processes of the GSK R&D enterprises to its IT strategy with plans, models and project solutions that ensure the current and future needs of R&D Business organisations and IT will be met in an efficient, secure, sustainable, agile, and adaptable manner.


Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain current knowledge of GSK architecture components as well as our key cloud platforms.
  • Work with an EA tool
  • Erwin preferred.
  • Domain knowledge in Pharma R&D is preferable.
  • Draw the types of diagrams on Erwin Evolve or similar tools and a willingness to do it.
  • Create business process and system and data models using Erwin Evolve Erwin data modelar.
  • Ensure architectures defined in projects comply with standards and policies
  • Work with product teams by contributing to project architectures.
  • Work with other architects and product teams to align R&D's operations with IT by improving the IT infrastructure and optimizing business operations.
  • Catalog develop, coordinate, and communicate enterprise and information architecture models, representations, capabilities, components, and plans in order for R&D Tech to progress with their product plans.
  • Work with the engineers and product owners to ensure projects align with the enterprise strategic target architecture plans as well as help produce effectively designed solutions.
  • Experience with an EA tool
  • Erwin preferred.
  • Domain knowledge in Pharma R&D is preferable.
  • Experience drawing the types of diagrams on Erwin Evolve or similar tools and a willingness to do it.
  • Experience in Metadata Management.
  • Technical background and experience with the delivery of products that reflect good architecture practices.
  • Knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks and methods (TOGAF).
  • Ability to compare the latest tools and technology with existing legacy ones and suggest better tools to use in terms of scalability, performance, and cost.
  • Good at capturing information systematically in interviews and workshops and presenting information in different ways for different audiences.

Problem Solving & Innovation

  • Proven conceptual thinking, analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Experience breaking complex structures down to component parts, and also knows when to go 'up a level' to get a better understanding of the issues.

Interaction

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills (written, diagramming and spoken)
