Global Treasury Strategy, Execution & Controls (SE&C) is a function within Global Treasury (GT), and is responsible for a significant book of work in the Treasury & Market Treasury function including strategic planning and delivery, effective governance, IT and innovations strategy, management of front to back and associated functions as well as conduct and control standards across our teams.

The function plays a key foundation role in managing GT existing operations and in the success of the implementing the new GT2025 target operating model.


Global Markets (GM) is a business within the Global Banking and Markets area of HSBC, and more specifically within the Markets and Securities Services (MSS) segment.


The NFR Team is a function that sits within the both the Markets business within the MSS and Markets Treasury in Global Treasury areas of HSBC.

It helps manage and control non-financial and new risks in the business, including but not limited to operational, conduct and product lifecycle risk.

An overarching purpose is to protect HSBC, its People, Clients and Financial Markets by helping safeguarding the delivery of fair outcomes to our customers and avoiding disruption of the orderly and transparent operation of Financial Markets


The MSS Control Office is an extension of the MSS COO Office, and the Office will partner with business management in the embedding, remediation and improvement of the control environment in respect of key risks to the MSS businesses, including the testing and assurance requirements of the Group Operational Risk Management Framework.

The office will deliver on control related priorities in a well-organized, effective, and collaborative manner.


The Opportunity:


The role holder will be involved in BCC or other governance meeting packs production BAU team, part of BLR Controls Office MI function which is part of the Global Markets and Treasury Front Office.

What you'll do:


  • Production of BCC / Meeting Packs and various management information as required by the governance forums.
  • Organization of data across the business, Preparation of common packs, continuous improvement of inbound data through negotiation with data providers as well as outbound pack quality.
  • Assist the Control Officers with any relevant MI required for their governance forums.
  • Support other specific tasks or projects related to support for the governance forums MI or other initiatives within the Controls Office as directed by management.
  • Ensure all queries from stakeholders are dealt with in a complete and timely fashion.
  • Should be able to support allied controls monitoring processes around Mobile Phone Breaches, Outside Activity & Mandated Leaves, etc.
  • General Helios updates and management i.e. control effectiveness, issues, CMs etc. (treasury risk in locations)
  • Support Dashboard and EUC support (covering Global Treasury)
  • Issue management
Requirements


What you will need to succeed in the role:

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Proven organizational, planning, interpersonal, analytical, problemsolving, decisionmaking, and team building skills.
  • Experience in supporting & collaborating on global process with internal/ external stakeholders across several countries and building new process from the scratch.
  • Appreciation of financial industry and key regulation on the financial markets practices.
  • Good understanding of Investment Banking products and functions.
  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in related field such as business or finance;
  • Demonstrated ability to work with multiple stakeholders and manage their expectations.
  • Ability to interact in a professional manner at all levels in the organization including Senior management community
  • Asset class and Regional Chief Control officers, MSS Chief Control Officer, COOs and associated resources.
  • Ability to turn around deliverables with short lead time and be able to work with different cultural groups to build consensus.
  • Previous experience in an operational risk or internal control function is required.

What additional skills will be good to have?_ _**- Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Advanced VBA and MS Access Database skills.
  • Proficient in analytical tools like Tableau.
  • Good understanding of Risk and Control framework and the operational aspects underpinning C
