Overall purpose of role
Barclays Private Clients India has grown to be a leading global Private Bank in India since its launch in 2008, with client assets of over GBP 18 bn.
New Business Origination
Identify, develop and secure new relationships through personal and client referrals, Barclays Group internal networks and corporate and investment banking sources.
Stakeholder Management and Leadership
Meet revenue & Net New Asset target. Make a demonstrable contribution to developing new and emerging talent within the onshore India business.
Decision-making and Problem Solving
Provide innovative and world class financial solutions to meet client needs including:
- Investment Management: Offers a range of services depending on client demands, including modelled, bespoke, discretionary and advisory portfolios. Investment Management works closely with the Private Bankers to provide a holistic service to clients
- Balance Sheet: Offers Banking, Credit and FX products to support a wide range of clients borrowing needs including finance for property and luxury purchases
- Trust and
Fiduciary Services:
Provides fiduciary solutions, wealth planning and structuring services plus trust and estate planning
- Alternative Investments: Offers clients exposure to hedge funds, private equity, commodities and real estate
Ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, Barclays Operational Risk Framework and internal Barclays Policies and Standards.
- Conduct periodic assessments of the control environment by analysing existing controls and issue around timeliness accuracy and completeness of risk information. Identify missing or weak controls, and work with risk reporting teams and other infrastructure teams to improve the control environment.
- Work with the wider risk reporting and risk management teams to ensure controls are fit for purpose, with agreed schedule to implement missing or weak controls.
- Ensure existing controls are helping the wider risk reporting and risk management function in upholding data quality standards and governance and regulatory policies
- Very strong relationship skills with experience of managing and handling the sophisticated needs of individuals and families
- Experience of building a client base using internal and external networks
- Effective in gaining an indepth understanding of client's needs and advising on a diverse range of wealth management solutions
- Satisfies the criteria for an approved person both initially and ongoing this will involve obtaining the relevant qualifications if not already qualified.
- Significant experience of the Financial Services industry and skilled in differentiating advice according to the complexity of the client's requirements.
- Detailed regulatory knowledge, in particular of Indian regulatory requirements, and an overall understanding of the business impact of the regulatory environment.
- Excellent market exposure and multidisciplined private banking expertise
Essential Skills/Basic Qualifications:
- Educated to Degree level
- Appropriate regulatory qualifications
- Fluent in English and Hindi
- Fluency in other Indian languages added advantage (regionallyspecific)
Desirable skills/Preferred Qualifications:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Entrepreneurial spirit but also with a collegiate approach
