How does semi-supervised learning work?

In semi-supervised learning, data scientists provide a little amount of tagged training data to an algorithm. The algorithm then learns the dimensions of the data set, which it may then apply to unlabeled data. When algorithms are trained on labeled data sets, they usually perform better. Data labeling, on the other hand, can be time-consuming and costly. In terms of performance and efficiency, semi-supervised learning is halfway between supervised and unsupervised learning.
