I WRITE TO MYSELF - by Devesh Bhatt

I fumbled as a writer,

With one foot in the reader's shoe.

Perhaps I write to myself,

More than I write to you.


Since I write to myself,

What possibly can I write?

Is their something that may emerge?

When the ideas take flight?


But ideas can do anything,

They may teleport if they choose.

They must be held accountable,

Before they are let loose.


So I write to get organised.

Try and arrive at some sense.

I believe this carnival in my head,

Is no random occurence.


This crazy colourful carnival,

With laughs and a scare or two,

It also made me cry in doubt,

Often without a clue.


So I flood my page with scribbles.

A massive meaningless herd.

I round up all that is worthy,

With the pen as my shepherd.


I hope that when you read me,

Don't put a foot in my shoe.

It is better if you had a look,

With your own colourful view.


I believe, you read for yourself,

To make sense within your head.

Where storms and calm can co-exist.

Does it matter if I am well read?
