Description

As a Purchase Executive specializing in OSD (Oral Solid Dosage) Pharmaceuticals, you will play a crucial role in procuring raw materials, equipment, and services necessary for the manufacturing and operational needs of the organization.

Your primary responsibility will be to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement while maintaining high standards of quality and compliance with relevant regulations.


Roles and Responsibilities:

Sourcing and Vendor Management:


  • Identify, evaluate, and select suitable vendors and suppliers for raw materials, packaging materials, equipment, and services required for OSD pharmaceutical manufacturing.
  • Negotiate terms and conditions, pricing, and contracts with vendors to secure favorable agreements while maintaining quality and compliance standards.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors to ensure reliable and timely delivery of materials and services.

Procurement Planning:


  • Collaborate with production and planning teams to forecast material requirements and develop procurement plans to meet production schedules.
  • Monitor inventory levels and reorder points to prevent stockouts and ensure uninterrupted production.

Quality Assurance and Compliance:


  • Ensure that all procured materials and services meet the required quality standards and specifications.
  • Work closely with the quality assurance team to conduct supplier audits, qualify new vendors, and address quality issues.

Cost Management:


  • Implement costsaving initiatives and strategies to optimize procurement costs without compromising on quality or compliance.
  • Conduct price analysis, benchmarking, and market research to identify costsaving opportunities and alternative suppliers.

Documentation and Record Keeping:


  • Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, including purchase orders, contracts, invoices, and correspondence with vendors.
  • Ensure compliance with internal procurement policies and procedures as well as relevant regulatory requirements.

Communication and Coordination:


  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including production, quality assurance, finance, and logistics, to coordinate procurement activities and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  • Communicate effectively with vendors regarding order specifications, delivery schedules, and any changes or issues that may arise.

Continuous Improvement:


  • Identify areas for process improvement within the procurement function and implement best practices to streamline processes, increase efficiency, and enhance overall effectiveness.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory changes affecting procurement practices in the pharmaceutical industry.

Qualifications and Experience:


  • Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy, Chemistry, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Previous experience in procurement or supply chain management within the pharmaceutical industry, with specific experience in OSD pharmaceuticals preferred.
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical manufacturing processes, materials, and regulations (e.g., cGMP, FDA requirements).
  • Strong negotiation skills, attention to detail, and analytical abilities.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problemsolving skills.
