Qualifications:

OCI Hosting Architect


An Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Network Architect is responsible for designing and implementing the network infrastructure within the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) environment.

They are experts in network architecture and design principles specific to OCI, and they work closely with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into scalable and resilient network solutions.


The job responsibilities include:

  • Network architecture design: Developing and documenting network architecture and design principles for OCI deployments. This includes designing network topologies, subnetting strategies, routing schemes, and addressing plans that meet performance, scalability, and security requirements.
  • OCI networking components: Configuring and managing core OCI networking components such as virtual cloud networks (VCNs), subnets, security lists, and route tables. They ensure proper segmentation, security, and connectivity between different network components.
  • VPN and connectivity: Configuring and managing VPN connections and network peering within OCI. This involves establishing secure connections between OCI and onpremises networks or other cloud providers to enable hybrid or multicloud architectures.
  • Network security: Implementing network security measures within OCI, including security groups, Network Security Groups (NSGs), access control lists (ACLs), and firewall rules. They follow security best practices to secure network traffic, prevent unauthorized access, and ensure compliance with industry regulations.
  • Network monitoring and troubleshooting: Monitoring network performance, availability, and security within OCI using native monitoring tools or thirdparty solutions. They proactively identify and resolve networkrelated issues and work closely with other teams to troubleshoot complex network problems.
  • Documentation and knowledge sharing: Creating and maintaining network documentation, including network diagrams, architecture diagrams, configuration details, and operational procedures. They also provide training and support to technical teams and endusers regarding networkrelated topics.


To excel in this role, an OCI Network Architect should have in-depth knowledge of network infrastructure and architecture principles, with a strong understanding of OCI networking services and features.

They should have experience with network virtualization, routing protocols, and network security technologies.

Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with technical teams and stakeholders are also essential.

Obtaining relevant Oracle certifications, such as the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Architect Associate or Professional, is highly beneficial.
