Radiation Safety Oversight:

- Conduct routine inspections and audits to ensure compliance with radiation safety standards and regulations.
- Monitor radiation exposure levels of personnel and the public to ensure adherence to safety limits.
- Investigate incidents or accidents involving radiation exposure and implement corrective actions as necessary.
Quality Assurance (QA) in DXE:
- Implement QA protocols for diagnostic X-ray equipment to ensure accurate and consistent imaging while minimizing radiation exposure.
- Perform regular quality control tests on Xray equipment, including image quality assessment, dose calibration, and equipment performance checks.
- Develop and maintain documentation of QA procedures and results to demonstrate compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with medical physicists, radiologists, and other healthcare professionals to optimize imaging protocols for patient safety and diagnostic accuracy.
Training and Education:
- Provide training and education to staff members on radiation safety practices, including proper handling of Xray equipment, radiation protection measures, and emergency procedures.
- Stay current with developments in radiation safety regulations, technology, and best practices, and disseminate relevant information to relevant stakeholders.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations governing the use of radiationemitting devices, including licensing, registration, and reporting requirements.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies during inspections or inquiries related to radiation safety and quality assurance.
Equipment Management:
- Coordinate maintenance, servicing, and calibration of diagnostic Xray equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Evaluate new equipment purchases or upgrades for compliance with radiation safety standards and QA requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field such as health physics, medical physics, radiologic technology, or a related discipline.
- Certification as a Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) or eligibility to obtain certification.
- Indepth knowledge of radiation safety principles, regulations, and best practices, particularly in the context of diagnostic Xray equipment.
- Experience in implementing and managing radiation safety programs in healthcare or industrial settings.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail for conducting QA tests and data analysis.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for training staff and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively in a dynamic environment.
