Sous Chef - Calicut, India - Lady Loafella
Description
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Head Chef in planning and executing menus, with a focus on continental cuisine.
- Oversee daytoday operations of the kitchen, ensuring food quality, presentation, and consistency.
- Train, mentor, and supervise kitchen staff to maintain high standards of performance.
- Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new dishes and refine existing recipes.
- Manage inventory levels and ordering of ingredients to minimize waste and maintain cost control.
- Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations at all times.
- Support the Head Chef in administrative tasks such as scheduling, budgeting, and menu costing.
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of experience working in a continental kitchen, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of continental cuisine, cooking techniques, and ingredients.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire team members.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to culinary excellence.
- Culinary degree or certification is a plus.
