Responsibilities:

Financial reporting

  • Ensure monthly management reporting is to a high standard and in accordance with IFRS/UK GAAP
  • Significant interaction with the external accounting to ensure group accounting policies are adhered to in the processing of transactions and posting of journals and requested information is delivered on time
  • Manage the APAC month end reporting timetable (in conjunction with overall Group timetable)
  • Management of thirdparty statutory audit, bank audit and tax review processes for APAC trading entities and point of contract for external auditors
  • Significant interaction with APAC commercial finance team to ensure accurate, timely and relevant reporting across client accounts
  • Reporting functional performance, working alongside functional budget holders to understand and manage their numbers

Process:

  • Develop sound understanding of operational and financial workflow and reporting systems within the business, recommending and supporting improvements
  • Ensure there is a good system of internal control and processes.
Help to drive a performance culture and challenge the status quo.


Planning:

  • Supporting the APAC planning processes in line with group guidelines and in conjunction with commercial and functional teams (monthly forecasts and an annual budget) with particular focus on overheads and balance sheet and working capital assumptions
Financial control

  • Preparation of APAC cash/treasury forecast, supplier payment planning and management of receivables factoring arrangement in respect of sales invoicing.
  • Coordinate APAC bank facilities, mandates, etc
  • Review foreign exchange exposures and work alongside the group treasury team to mitigate this risk
  • Approval of monthly payroll costs and staff allocations
  • Working capital and wider balance sheet management and review to ensure freecash is maximised and risks are reported and understood or appropriate action taken to clear or mitigate
  • Support regional management from an accounting and control perspective on business growth opportunities
  • Ensuring the delivery of commercial and accounting impact analysis alongside appropriate modelling in support of significant strategic projects.

Requirements:


Requirements:


  • Fully qualified accountant or similar qualification/experience
  • At least 8 years financial accounting experience
  • Excellent IT skills ideally financial modelling skills and working knowledge of database management systems, advanced Excel (power query/VBA/SQL) and experience of a common BI tool (e.g. Power BI, Business Objects, etc)
  • Fluent English
  • Honest, accountable and selfdriven comfortable working under time pressure and willingness to, where necessary, adopt a 'sleeves rolledup' approach
  • Good communication skills, articulate, with presence and a challenging style
  • Ability to demonstrate an energetic partner orientated approach
  • An innovative thinker with the potential to develop and grow with the business
