Your key responsibilities

  • Overall management of a production support team of approximately 40 staff, including internal and vendor resources.
  • Defining and adhering to key performance indicators relating to production support activities, such as incident and problem targets, automation and manual effort reduction, disaster recovery compliance, closure of audit points, monitoring improvements etc.
  • Defining and improving production support processes and best practices across the reconciliations space, covering the ITIL disciplines of incident and problem management, as well as fostering engineering practices to improve supportability, reliability and resilience. Reduce manual interventions and maintain compliance with bank policies.
  • Management of major incidents from detection to resolution, including documentation of closure of subsequent postmortem and problem management activities.
  • Document and maintain OLAs, SLAs and knowledge bases to support the platforms, ensuring consistent service levels are achieved across the global support team.
  • Build and maintain effective and productive relationships with the stakeholders in business, development, infrastructure and thirdparty systems / data providers & vendors. Provide regular senior stakeholder reporting and updates.
  • Ensure timely delivery of key data feeds and services within SLAs. Consistently achieve maximum availability (up time) for critical functionality.
  • Assist in the process to review and approve all new releases and production configuration changes; ensure development includes all necessary documentation for each change and conduct postrelease testing where required.
  • Own the production environment and act as gatekeeper for all changes.

Your skills and experience

  • Proven track record in financial institutions within (and ideally managing) production support teams, and dealing with business users on support, requirements gathering, stakeholder and vendor management
  • ITIL (or equivalent) certification to at least ITIL Foundation level.
  • Strong skills using UNIX/Linux, Oracle (or other relation) databases, scripting languages, scheduling and automation tools.
  • Excellent business domain knowledge, preferably (but not necessarily) within reconciliations.
  • Experience with cloud technologies (e.g. GCP, Azure, AWS) preferred but not essential.
  • Experience of monitoring/scheduling software such as Geneos, Splunk, Control-M, Autosys, etc.
  • Experience in the Agile method of software development
  • Experience in task automation, e.g. Ansible
  • Experience in planning, implementing and maintaining contingency and business continuity plans.
  • Project management, stakeholder management and communications experience
  • Getting things done in large organizations reusing standard approved processes and adherence to firmwide standards.
  • Work across countries, regions and time zones with a broad range of cultures and technical capability
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills, including the ability to communicate technical information to a nontechnical audience and at senior levels. Relationship management skills.
