Role Description:


The Business and Functional Analyst is responsible for review and analysis of requirements from the business as well as identifying and assessing change needs.

The BFA supports the link between the business divisions and the solution providers for all aspects of identifying, implementing and maintaining solutions.

The BFA supports Product Owners in backlog refinement and writes requirements and acceptance criteria as user stories for Regulatory reporting domain.

Your key responsibilities

  • Primarily responsible for creating good quality requirement specification and high level design of reporting workflow
  • Work with Product Owners in backlog refinement and writing crisp and clear acceptance criteria
  • System Integration testing of developed software
  • Mentor junior team members in both technical (reporting rules management) and functional front
  • Do requirement specification review of other team members
  • Participate and manage daily standup meetings
  • Articulate issues and risks to management in timely manner
  • This role will require 70% functional & technical involvement and 30% on other activities like team handling, mentoring, status reporting, yearend appraisals
  • Analyze software defects and get them fixed in timely manner
  • Work closely with Stakeholders and other teams like Architecture team, Quality Assurance teams etc.

Your skills and experience

  • 510 year experience in below functional domains Regulatory Reporting (preferred), Finance, Accounting, Derivatives, Trade Life Cycle, Risk Management, Capital Markets, Investment Banking
  • Hands on Experience of IT Business Analyst role involving; Requirement Gathering, Data Onboarding / Sourcing, Data Analysis, Requirement documentation, User Acceptance Testing
  • Hands on experience of handling Local Reg Reporting requirements for Finance or Operations including products like FX, Derivatives, Bonds, Repos, Loans, Deposits, Trade Finance etc.
  • Good understanding of the complete Trade Lifecycle for the abovementioned products
  • Experience of working on any of the Local Regulatory Reporting requirements for APAC Regions
  • Good Understanding of Post Trade & Settlement Processes along with accounting principles and standards for reporting like GAAP, IFRS etc
  • Knowledge of Financial Statements like Balance Sheet, Income & Loss Statement, Cashflow Statement along with other regular reports like EMIR, MIFID, DFA, CCAR, Liquidity Coverage Ratio, Large Exposures Reporting, Non-Performing Assets Reporting etc.
  • Exposure to Functional Testing using Excel based techniques like Vlook Ups and Pivot charts for the Regulatory Data Models, Reports etc
  • Hands on experience in creation of BRD and FRD, Use cases, Epics, User Stories and sufficient exposure to Scrum way of working for Delivering Requirements
  • Good knowledge of SDLC processes, agile is must
  • Have exposure or known to basic SQL and sufficient hands on experience in Data Analysis using SQL, knowledge of Jira, confluence
