Purpose of the Role:


To plan, organize and schedule tasks of the analytical department in such a way that the analytical requirements of all cosmetic projects are met with in accurate and reliable manner, and ensure the delivery of results in time, to improve the output of all Marico projects.


Qualification & Experience:


  • Master with 23 years of experience in analytical chemistry

Key Deliverables of the Role:


  • Support to NPD projects in terms of claims, study, product sensory, and superiority.
  • Builds, develops, and maintains a lab with cutting edge expertise and capabilities
  • Collaborates closely with external lab, institute, and academia
  • Generate Analytical Chemical for supporting Hair, Skin and Food Business.
  • Ability to independently work within a fastpaced team environment and handle multiple demands
  • Design and execute the research plans and support the analytical requirements for FMCG products which provide organization competitive edge.

Knowledge, Skills & Competencies:


  • Analytical skills must include HPLC (preferably with UV, RI, ELSD detection techniques) and GC, sample preparation and clean up techniques (e.g., SPE, SPME, liquidliquid extraction) and a familiarity of GPC, Ion Chromatography, and Mass Spectrometry. A working knowledge of chromatographic data systems (e.g., ChemStation, Empower), is desired.
  • To ensure timely calibration of the equipment's to improve reliability of those equipment's.
  • To coordinate the out sourcing of analysis to external parties, when equipment's are not available within R&D, so that proper analysis results are available to interpret and understand the project.

Upwards - Principle Manager, Measurement Sciences

  • Product Development, Advanced Technology Team, Foods

Growth Path & Future:

Exposure on advanced instrumentation, collaboration with academia and institute, New Product Development process, interaction with cross functional department

The incumbent will be mentored to be expert in the field of Measurement Science and support all needs of New Products
