Job Title:
Business Analyst - Capital Markets and Securities

Overview:

As a Business Analyst with expertise in capital markets and securities, you will be responsible for analyzing and improving trade settlement processes and post-trade activities within the organization.

You will collaborate with various stakeholders, including traders, operations teams, technology specialists, and external vendors, to enhance efficiency, reduce risks, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Trade Settlements Analysis:
Analyze trade lifecycle processes, including trade capture, confirmation, clearing, and settlement, to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement.

Conduct gap analysis to assess the alignment of existing trade settlement systems and workflows with industry best practices and regulatory standards.

Develop recommendations for optimizing trade settlement processes, streamlining workflows, and enhancing automation.

Post-Trade Activities Enhancement:

Evaluate post-trade activities, such as reconciliation, collateral management, corporate actions processing, and regulatory reporting, to identify opportunities for optimization and risk mitigation.

Collaborate with operations teams to define requirements for post-trade systems enhancements and workflow improvements.
Implement solutions to enhance post-trade processing efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.

Regulatory Compliance:
Stay abreast of regulatory developments impacting capital markets and securities trading, including Dodd-Frank, MiFID II, EMIR, and SFTR.
Assess the impact of regulatory changes on trade settlement processes and post-trade activities.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements through the implementation of robust controls and monitoring mechanisms.

Stakeholder Collaboration:

Engage with traders, operations personnel, risk managers, compliance officers, and technology teams to gather requirements and facilitate the implementation of solutions.

Build strong relationships with external vendors and service providers to leverage their expertise and capabilities in enhancing trade settlement and post-trade processes.

Documentation and Reporting:
Document business requirements, process flows, and functional specifications for trade settlement and post-trade system enhancements.

Generate reports and dashboards to track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to trade settlement efficiency, error rates, and compliance metrics.

Present findings, recommendations, and project updates to senior management and key stakeholders.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, computer science, or a related field (preferred).

7+ years of experience as a business analyst in the financial services industry, with a focus on capital markets and securities.

In-depth understanding of trade lifecycle processes, including trade execution, confirmation, clearing, and settlement.
Proficiency in trade settlement systems, post-trade platforms, and regulatory reporting tools (e.g., Bloomberg TOMS, Fidessa, Murex, Calypso, SWIFT).
Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze complex data sets and identify actionable insights.
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Project management experience and familiarity with agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban) is a plus.

Certifications (preferred):
Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA)
Financial Risk Manager (FRM)
Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP)
Project Management Professional (PMP)
