  • Working on the Fellowship Selection Model and playing a role in deciding who is the best person for this movement
  • Crucial role in ensuring that our Applicants experience a fair and inspirational selection process, which in turn will influence their decision to join this movement of eliminating educational inequity in India.

Team Overview:


What skills and mindsets drive excellent teachers and how are these similar to or different from those that drive our greatest leaders? These are the questions that guide the work of the Fellowship Selection Team at Teach For India.

The Fellowship Selection Team is charged with the responsibility of ensuring the best possible makeup of our cohort.

We conduct research and analysis to design a selection model, which will lead us to efficiently identify those likely to be excellent teachers and impactful leaders.

We design and run systems and processes that ensure efficient and accurate execution of this model across 8 cities in India.

All this, by training and supporting over 200 Staff, Fellows, and Alumni to execute their roles as interviewers and reviewers.

Outcomes are monitored and evaluated at each stage of our process to ensure all decisions are accurate and that every applicant has an experience, which is fair, consistent and leaves them as advocates of our movement.

In short, we put teachers in classrooms who will transform the lives of every child they teach and who will, as Alumni work towards eliminating the wicked educational crisis in India.


Responsibilities:


  • Building relationships with and facilitating ongoing training to manage Staff, Fellows, and Alumni involved in the selection process to ensure fair and consistent implementation of our model.
  • Research & data analysis skills to strengthen the model and process which selects the best Fellows for our children.
  • Collaboration with the Training & Impact team, Program team and Strategy & Impact team to identify gaps and strengths of our model, along with the ability to implement the next steps to strengthen the model.
  • Project management skills, such that you can plan for and manage complex projects with many moving parts and stakeholders. All this ensures highquality outcomes in a tight timeframe.
  • Monitoring and tracking progress towards goals through data analysis, that allows you to design and implement strategic solutions to inthemoment challenges as well as increase longterm process efficiency.
  • Adapting to a dynamic environment which will require you to create and recreate to increase effectiveness.

Minimum Qualifications, Experiences and Expectations:


  • Exceptional English language communication skills both written and verbal
  • Ability to analyse complex data sets from varied sources (both quantitative and qualitative), drawing conclusions and identifying appropriate next steps
  • Graduate (any field) with 23 years of work experience (experience of working on complex research & analysis projects is preferable but not essential)
  • Growthoriented mindset and a drive to develop self as well as to challenge and improve existing systems and approaches
  • Belief that every child deserves an excellent education and that every single child has the ability to be successful academically, whatever their background
  • Belief that every Applicant has the potential to become a leader of this movement and operate with an allittakes attitude to make them the advocates of Teach For India and this movement
  • High sense of possibility and curiosity to solve problems creatively

  • Strong interpersonal skills, which enable you to build meaningful relationships with diverse others and invest them in a role or purpose, and a focus on collaborating to reach outcomes with teams.
  • High attention to detail, with a belief in the importance of 'the little things'.
  • Highly organized with the ability to set clear plans to meet ambitious project goals within clear timeframes.
  • Openness and strong ability to adapt approaches and plans, when required, without compromising on the quality of outcomes produced.
  • Solutionoriented approach when faced with challenges, and ability to identify and implement solutions to complex challenges rapidly.
