Pace Robotics is a construction robotics startup incubated by
SINE IIT-Bombay and backed by
Pidilite Ventures. We are making the building construction process faster, smarter and efficient through robots that perform advanced construction tasks and digitize execution data in real time. Our first product is a modular robot for plastering, putty and painting of building interiors. We have recently received our first commercial order from one of the largest construction companies in India and will begin our commercial deployment from April 2024.


As a Product Designer, you will take the ownership of converting problem statements, customer insights, user inputs and engineering design into state of art products and features in line with business requirements and market opportunities.

You will support the Product Design Lead and collaborate with the engineering teams to deliver the desired product.


We are looking for some with 2-3 years of experience in product design/industrial design and having a robust portfolio of physical products demonstrating a strong grasp of design principles, creativity, and innovative thinking.


What you will do:


  • Develop design solutions to address relevant problem statements based on customer insights and business goals effectively communicate design through ideation, concept development, sketching, 3D concept modelling, while considering form, function and user experience.
  • Create prototypes or mockups for design validation, conduct tests and trials, gather feedback to iterate and refine designs.
  • Work closely with crossfunctional teams including engineering, product manager, business, and manufacturing to ensure designs align with technical feasibility, market needs and brand objectives.
  • Collect User Experience data from product pilot, guide design decisions based on these inputs and define your product scope and iterate through feedback loops to optimize the design.
  • Assist in conducting research on industry trends, market preferences, user needs, competitive analysis and emerging technologies to incorporate innovative and competitive elements into designs and to inspire design solutions.

Who you are:


  • You hold a Bachelor's or equivalent degree in Mechanical Engineering, Bachelor's/Master's degree or equivalent in Industrial Design/Product Design or a related field
  • You have a comprehensive understanding of the Design Thinking and User Experience principles in the product development process
  • You have an experience of 23 years in handson product design/industrial design activities with a strong portfolio showcasing a range of design projects and processes (sketches, conceptualization skills, 3D CAD models, renderings, prototypes) demonstrating creativity, problemsolving skills, and attention to detail.
  • You are mechanically inclined, with solid understanding of engineering principles, manufacturing processes and materials with emphasis towards medium or highvolume manufacturing.
  • You are excited about building neverseenbefore products from scratch, interacting with users to identify opportunities and derive design inputs.
  • You prefer the uncertain, ever changing, at timeschaotic but fastgrowing work environment of a startup to a wellstructured, predictable corporate work culture.
  • You can work unsupervised and set your own pace of work to match the team and business needs.

Skills Required:


  • Have relevant knowledge of common industrial automation/robotics key components.
  • Proficiency in 2D and 3D design software, such as Fusion 360, SolidWorks, Adobe Creative Suite, Blender, KeyShot, or other relevant tools.
  • Passion for usercentered design, an understanding of human factors in design, innovation, and the ability to think creatively to solve design challenges.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment, communicate ideas clearly, and adapt to evolving product requirements.
  • Welldeveloped and demonstrated interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to take ownership and responsibility for various projects, and have the ability to deliver within given deadlines and budgets.

₹600, ₹1,200,000.00 per year
