As the
Wholesale Lending Reporting Controller in our
Commercial Banking Team, you will spend each day defining, refining and delivering set goals for our firm
Providing \"best in class\" reporting to both our internal and external clients is a priority.
Best in class reporting would include informative, accurate, reliable and timely financial information that can be used by management to make sound financial decisions; by analysts to assess the Firm's financial position; investors to make informed decisions and regulators to supervise and examine us appropriately.
Our goal is to continuously improve the reporting process through enhancements to the control environment, building efficient technology solutions, and improving the operating model.
This role, within the Wholesale Lending Reporting Control Team, provides a unique opportunity to lead through a period of change; influencing and building partnerships with the SEC and Regulatory teams as well as Accounting/Legal Policy, Line of Business Product Controllers, Wholesale Loan Operations and Risk professionals.
Responsibilities:
- Perform timely review of monthly/quarterly validations and attestations related to wholesale lending disclosure including lending sections in the earnings press release supplement, SEC and regulatory filings and other credit related external reporting
- Execute variance analysis, specific data quality checks and cross report analysis to ensure reported lending related balances are in line with expectations and no erroneous balances have been reported
- Focus on continuous improvement efforts around data quality review and wholesale lending external reporting improvement projects
- Lead implementation efforts related to new regulatory reports or reporting requirements, finance reporting infrastructure, and strategic initiatives
- Partner with Consumer Lending-FERC (Firmwide External Reporting Controller), lines of business external reporting teams, wholesale loan technology, operations, risk professionals, and corporate functions on matters impacting lending related disclosures
- Collaborate with Wholesale Credit Analytics & Solutions (WCAS), Firmwide Regulatory Reporting & Analysis (FRRA), and Finance Reporting Infrastructure (FRI) Technology on CCAR FRY14Q (schedules H, K and M), SEC 10Q/K, FRY9C, and FFEIC 031 reporting improvement initiatives
- Provide clear and concise reporting to senior management on technology and strategic initiatives impacting the library of schedules and controls owned by Wholesale Lending External Reporting
- Work to understand and effectively use new technology resources including, but not limited to, Tableau, Alteryx, and Abacus Studio to improve analysis capability within the Wholesale FERC team
- Respond to audit (external and internal) inquiry and adhoc request from bank regulators, e.g., FRB, OCC,
Required Qualifications, Skills and Capabilities
- CPA or equivalent professional degree (Bachelor's or Masters in Accounting/Finance/Business/Economics) preferred
- At least 46 years of overall experience (post qualification) in Auditing, Accounting, Internal Control and/or External Reporting
- Comprehensive understanding of Wholesale Lending business
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting requirements
- Experience and advanced skills presenting to senior leaders
- Experience with SAP, SAP Business Objects, BPC, Essbase (Smartview), CRI/CRRT
- Advancedlevel ability expected in all MS Office tools (Excel, Pivot Tables, Access, VBA, PowerPoint)
- Proficiency with data profiling and data analysis toolset/visualization e.g., Alteryx, Xceptor, databases, SQL or similar query language, Abacus query, dashboard creation using Tableau
