    Description
    Principal Lead – User Experience Designer, Work closely with user experience (UX) designers and other design specialists. Ensure a consistent and effective user experience (UX) within projects. Make sure that every page and every step a user will experience in their interaction with the finished product will conform to the overall vision created by UX designers. Support cross-functional business and technology teams and key stakeholders to transform business and user requirements in to highly effective and usable software solutions.
    Design journey maps, planning and executing co-creation workshops, and crafting the Service Blueprint. Work with junior members on the team, building a strong UX culture and mentoring designers into creating effective, usable and satisfying experience. Provides direction, mentorship to junior designers, conduct reviews to ensure we stay on course, are effective, powerful, engaging and rewarding by taking a user centered design approach.

    Key Responsibilities

  • Lead & Manage the design of experiences during the implementation phase of the project, including the development of wireframes, mock-ups and other project deliverables to illustrate the intended user experience.
  • Building a style guide, design system, or visual language/framework – to ensure consistency across the board.
  • Assembling, modifying, extending design component library, consulting with designers on their design pattern library needs and guide their decision making.
  • Designing every individual screen the user might interact with, making decisions about which layout and visual design elements will help create the most intuitive-possible user experience.
  • Design interactive user interfaces and ensuring that a layout will work well across a range of different screen sizes.
  • Present design ideas, including rationale based on research and best practices, to the product development team and other key stakeholders.
  • Conduct heuristics Evaluations, identify research needs/scope for collaboration with UXR.
  • Participate in peer design reviews/critique, giving and receiving constructive feedback

    • Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent required.
  • 8-10 years of relevant experience required
  • Experience building a design system, design tokens, components, patterns, etc.
  • Strong understanding of the UX Design Process, Usability, Heuristics and design fundamentals such as color theory, composition, branding, typography and web design standards.
  • Working knowledge of the ideation and creation of UI design deliverables: Sitemaps, user flows, wireframes, lo-fi and hi-fi layouts, prototypes, etc
  • Experience working with industry standard visualization tools and software (e.g. Sketch, Figma, Invision, Photoshop, etc.).
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills, including the ability to clearly articulate creative concepts and rationale.
  • Ability to work in both waterfall and agile project processes.

    • Preferred Qualifications

  • Proven experience building patterns and components for a design system
  • Proven experience in presenting and defending designs with stakeholders.
  • Experience in strategic contributions to product design Storytelling abilities
  • 8+ years of broad experience of designing highly complex web sites and software applications from a UX standpoint.
  • Ability to interpret product requirements documents from a UX/UCD perspective.
  • Experience designing transactional or complex interactions with consumer and/or B2B platforms.

  • Demonstrated ability to raise issues and concerns and see them through to completion.
