REPORTING TO:
Vice President

The Currencies Operations EMEA team is responsible for Confirmation and Settlement of FX transactions. All trades booked by front office have to be confirmed and settled within tight deadlines.


Experience
The applicant should have an in-depth knowledge of the FX Confirmations/Settlements area with a minimum of 8 years experience. Treasury/Cash Management experience would also be applicable.


Role Description

  • Role will be focused on mastering all aspects of FX confirmation and settlement functions, Change Management and key control processes.
  • Good knowledge of different payment messages like MT202,MT103, MT199, etc.
  • Nostro reconciliation / Post settlement knowledge would be added advantage
  • The incumbent should have strong relationship skills to manage relationship with Middle Offices and Front Offices.
  • Risk Mitigation of trades daily as per procedures set by the business. Proven experience of reviewing the inherent risks, ability to spot the gaps and instituting preventive and detective controls.
  • First Escalation contact, ensuring all outstanding issues are reviewed and appropriately escalated in a timely manner
  • Ensuring that all issues are investigated and resolved in a timely manner as per SLA.
  • Understand and ensure compliance with control and regulatory requirements
  • Participate in the implementation of strategic initiatives, identify process improvements and efficiency opportunities in the daily workflow.
  • Ability to quickly understand a complex matrix of operating systems across the infrastructure and their interrelationships and dependencies
  • Should be able to motivate team, identity developmental areas of Team Member and assist in grooming the team towards success.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Graduate/Post-Graduate in Finance / Business Administration / Accountancy with good academic record and 8 years experience in Investment Banking / Treasury Operations.
  • Relevant knowledge and experience of FX/FX options (MT messages, Fx /FxO Payment processing and CLS Settlements)
  • Demonstrated team experience, with strong focus on controls
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build business relationships
  • Ability to multitask in a constantly changing, global, virtual team environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Technical skills required: MS Word, Outlook, MS Excel and Internet
  • Quick learner & flexible for any shifts
  • Ability to work under stress with accuracy
  • Strong teamwork, people and organizational skills
Able to critically challenge with the goal of identifying control issues and process improvement opportunities
