Job Title:
Restaurant Captain


Responsibilities:


Guest Service:


  • Ensure a high standard of customer service by leading and motivating the frontofhouse staff.
  • Greet and seat guests, addressing any special requests or preferences.
  • Monitor the dining experience to ensure guest satisfaction.

Team Management:


  • Supervise, train, and mentor waitstaff, assigning duties and responsibilities.
  • Conduct preshift briefings to communicate daily specials, promotions, and service expectations.
  • Coordinate with the kitchen staff to ensure smooth communication and efficient service.

Order Management:


  • Take and relay orders accurately to the kitchen, ensuring special dietary requirements are communicated.
  • Oversee the delivery of food and beverages to tables, ensuring proper presentation and timing.
  • Handle guest complaints and concerns professionally and promptly.

Table Turnover:


  • Manage table reservations and optimize table turnover without compromising guest satisfaction.
  • Monitor and control the flow of guests in the dining area to prevent overcrowding or delays.

Upselling and Promotion:


  • Promote and upsell menu items, daily specials, and promotions.
  • Have a thorough knowledge of the menu and be able to make recommendations based on guest preferences.

Quality Control:


  • Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the dining area, overseeing the setup and breakdown of tables.
  • Monitor the quality and presentation of food and beverages, addressing any issues promptly.

Billing and Payments:


  • Handle billing transactions accurately and efficiently, ensuring correct settlement of bills.
  • Resolve any payment discrepancies and coordinate with the cashier or financial department.

Compliance and Training:


  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and hygiene standards.
  • Conduct ongoing training for staff on service standards, menu knowledge, and customer service.

Qualifications:


Experience:


  • Previous experience in a supervisory or captain role within the restaurant industry.

Communication Skills:


  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Customer Focus:


  • A strong focus on customer satisfaction and service excellence.

Leadership:


  • Ability to lead and motivate a team in a fastpaced environment.

Problem-Solving:


  • Effective problemsolving skills and the ability to handle customer complaints.

Knowledge:


  • Thorough knowledge of food and beverage operations, menu items, and wine service.

Flexibility:


  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.


The Restaurant Captain plays a crucial role in ensuring a positive and seamless dining experience for guests while maintaining high standards of service and professionalism within the restaurant.


Job Types:

Salary:
From ₹15,000.00 per month
