I'm Ishank Sharma, a Software Engineer with a passion for creating innovative solutions and contributing to the world of technology. I graduated with a B.E. in Information Science and Engineering from MSRIT Bengaluru in 2021, and since then, I've been on an exciting journey in the software development industry.

Throughout my career, I've been fortunate to work on some incredible projects that have honed my skills and allowed me to make a meaningful impact. Currently, I am working as a Software Development Engineer at CommerceIQ, a cutting-edge omnichannel e-commerce SaaS platform. My role here involves optimizing programmatic Ads and providing competitor insights to help businesses thrive.

One of my proudest achievements at CommerceIQ was designing and implementing an advanced recommendation data pipeline on Snowflake. By leveraging historical data and sophisticated weight-based algorithms, I was able to accurately forecast the budget required to enhance sales and achieve client-specific goals. Additionally, I developed a data pipeline using Snowflake to address the cold start problem in recommendation systems, which generated tailored recommendations even in the absence of sufficient user data.

In addition to my work at CommerceIQ, I'm also an active Open Source Contributor for the Internet Archive. It brings me joy to contribute to their mission of offering free universal access to books, movies, music, and web archives. I've worked on various projects, such as adding support for zooming in/out with the keyboard on the Safari browser and improving search engine optimization on OpenLibrary.org.

Besides my professional endeavors, I'm also passionate about side projects. One of my most significant achievements was winning the Smart India Hackathon in 2020 with Team Avocado. We developed a smart patrol allocation and monitoring system for the National Crime Records Bureau, which provided real-time visual overviews of hot zones, patrolling cars, and live alerts to police for efficient crime management.

My skills span across Data Structures, Snowflake, ETL, Python, Backend Development, Problem Solving, SQL, and Data Pipelines. These skills have been essential in my journey as a software engineer and have allowed me to tackle complex challenges with confidence.

When I'm not coding or developing new solutions, you can find me working on my social networking platform for developers called "Developers Planet." It's a platform where developers can share their day-to-day experiences, collaborate, and explore trending topics.
