Design Engineer - Filter Press Manufacturing


Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Design Engineer to join our Filter Press manufacturing team. The Design Engineer will play a critical role in developing and designing various mechanisms for production and customer-specific requirements.

Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, AutoCAD, and SolidWorks will be essential in this role to ensure efficient and high-quality designs.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop different types of mechanisms for Filter Press manufacturing.
  • Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to understand production and customer requirements.
  • Utilize Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles to optimize designs for efficiency and quality.
  • Create detailed 2D and 3D models using AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
  • Perform structural analysis and simulations to validate designs and ensure their integrity.
  • Generate engineering drawings, specifications, and bills of materials (BOMs) for production.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and provide innovative solutions for complex design challenges.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and customer specifications.
  • Collaborate with the production team to ensure smooth implementation of designs on the shop floor.
  • Participate in design reviews, contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, and propose design modifications for enhanced performance.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in design engineering.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Design Engineer, preferably in the manufacturing industry.
  • Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and SolidWorks for 2D and 3D modeling and engineering drawings.
  • Experience in designing mechanisms, structures, and components.
  • Ability to perform structural analysis and simulations using relevant software tools.
  • Knowledge of industry standards, safety regulations, and design codes.
  • Excellent problemsolving and analytical skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in design documentation.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills to work in a team environment.
  • Continuous learning mindset and ability to adapt to new technologies and tools.

Qualifications:


Education:

  • Bachelor s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
A degree in Industrial Design or Product Design may also be considered.


Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Design Engineer, preferably in the manufacturing industry, with a focus on mechanical design.
  • Experience in designing mechanisms, structures, and components, ideally in a similar industry such as industrial equipment manufacturing.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and SolidWorks for 2D and 3D modeling, engineering drawings, and design documentation.
  • Knowledge of design software and tools relevant to the industry.
  • Familiarity with structural analysis and simulation software for validating designs.

Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma:

  • Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies to optimize designs for efficiency and quality.

Industry Knowledge:

  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and materials relevant to Filter Press manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of industry standards, safety regulations, and design codes.

Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills:

  • Excellent problemsolving and analytical skills to address design challenges and propose innovative solutions.
  • Ability to conduct feasibility studies and perform structural analysis to ensure design integrity.

Attention to Detail:

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in design documentation, including engineering drawings, specifications, and bills of materials.

Communication and Collaboration:

  • Effective communication and collaboration skills to work in a team environment and interact with crossfunctional teams.
  • Ability to convey technical information clearly and concisely.
