    Roles & Responsibilities

    The AGM/SM Exports & Imports (EXIM) holds a critical role in the company's international trade operations. This individual is entrusted with the comprehensive management and optimization of both export and import management processes. Their primary responsibilities encompass overseeing essential documentation, monitoring financial transactions, and ensuring adherence to pertinent regulations. Serving as the Head of EXIM, the candidate will be instrumental in sustaining the efficiency and financial robustness of the organization's export and import operations, thereby playing a significant role in fortifying the company's position in the global marketplace.

    Key Responsibilities:

    1. Lead a team of EXIM for ensuring effective operations in promptly filing export benefit claims, tracking eligibility, and complying with customs regulations.
    2. Monitor and update the status of shipping bills and sanctions, ensuring accurate records.
    3. Oversee import of capital goods and equipment required for new greenfield and brownfield projects, adhere to projects timelines, and ensure effective logistics cost management.
    4. Manage RoDTEP (Remission of Duties and Taxes on Exported Products) credit ledger accounts, that align with shipping bills.
    5. Ensure accurate input order-to-cash details in the ERP system for every export sale.
    6. Strictly adhere to EDI port compliance requirements, meeting customs and internal standards.
    7. Validate documents for export claims, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
    8. Proactively assess financial risks related to documentation errors and non-compliance, taking corrective action.
    9. Continuously review and negotiate freight and shipping costs for cost-effectiveness.
    10. Monitor and manage external agency fees for compliance certifications, optimizing costs.
    11. Resolve customs-related queries and obtain necessary approvals and NOCs.
    12. Prepare a checklist for foreign payments and submit it to the accounts team.
    13. Oversee timely processing of shipment charges to forwarders and make custom duty payments on ICEGATE.
    14. Compile a comparison sheet for received shipment quotes and share it with the respective department heads.
    15. Ensure timely application of Export House certificates and RCMC certificates from DGFT for both export and import materials.
    16. Streamlining the import exports processes as per the Govt. rules and regulations.
    17. Submission of advance license to DGFT after completion of prescribed export obligations.
    18. Interact with various insurance companies for claims, filling, processing, and disbursement of amount as per the shipment.
    19. Negotiate with various external vendors viz., domestic international airline partners, couriers, transporters, insurance companies, CHAs, CFS, and Forwarders, and NVOCC shipping agents.
    20. Ensure the Import Export, master files, record and developing database for audit ready as per SOP.
    21. Efficiently utilize software systems such as NetSuite, Beehive, and Kissflow for streamlined operations.

    Desired Candidate Profile

    Education and Certifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Commerce/ Foreign Trade, or related field.
    • Master's degree / MBA or relevant post-graduate qualification will be a plus.
    • Certifications or specialized training in export and import regulations & compliance will be a plus.

    Experience:

    • 10-20 years of proven experience in export and import documentation, customs compliance, and regulations, preferably in preferably in a manufacturing organization with a significant focus on export and import operations in India.
    • Demonstrable experience with export incentives and within the Indian regulatory framework.
    • Possess knowledge on Foreign Trade Policy and Procedures.
    • Well versed in exports and imports procedures.
    • Should be aware of excise and customs formalities.
    • Should possess acumen in liasioning with government officials working in Customs and DGFT offices.

    Technical / Functional Expertise & other competencies:

    • Strong understanding of international trade regulations, including familiarity with Gateway EGM (Export General Manifest), EDI Service Centre protocols.
    • Strong analytical skills with the ability to track, scrutinize, report, and optimize costs effectively.
    • Proficiency in using ERP systems for order-to-cash processes and document management.
    • Excellent decision-making abilities to choose the appropriate export strategies and take corrective actions when necessary.
    • Excellent communication and negotiation skills to handle queries and external agency interactions.
    • Team leadership and mentorship capabilities, with a commitment to promoting a positive work environment.
    • Strong time management skills to oversee multiple processes simultaneously, ensuring timely completion of tasks and meeting organizational objectives.
    • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail to ensure compliance and quality standards are met consistently.
