We are seeking energetic, capable, collaborative, and innovative talent in the field of Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering to join the Process Technology team, grow with us, and make manufacturing a distinct competitive advantage for our company.

This position is primarily responsible for identifying, prioritizing, and implementing opportunities to move the organization and culture to a lean, best-in-class production environment. Acts as a central resource for lean manufacturing and assists with day-to-day production support and improvements. Works with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and EHS teams to develop standard work and process documentation, team training plans and administration, and development and deployment of key performance indicators (KPIs). Under minimum supervision, evaluates existing processes and configures manufacturing systems to improve safety, reduce costs, increase productivity, and develop best practices within the production processes.

Electronic control systems- Responsible for the research, plan, and design of mechanical and electromechanical products and equipment. Direct and coordinate activities involved in manufacturing, fabrication, operation, application, installation, and repair mechanical or electromechanical products and equipment by applying theories and principles of science and mathematics. Duties include sales driven custom design requests and modifications to existing product offerings.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and implementation of manufacturing processes, ensuring adherence to safety standards and efficiency goals. This involves thorough research, design, testing, and documentation, as well as collaboration with equipment suppliers.
• Develop and specify through documented procedures, manufacturing processes of all levels of complexity necessary to produce product. Provide direction to overall manufacturing process documentation strategy.
• Spearhead lean continuous improvement (CI) strategies to optimize quality, schedules, and cost-effectiveness. This includes overseeing CI project pipelines, guiding CI transformation plans, and driving initiatives for cost reduction, cycle time improvement, and quality enhancement.
• Provide strategic direction to management regarding CI opportunities aligned with business objectives. This involves analyzing data, prioritizing improvement initiatives, and ensuring alignment with the overall business strategy.
• Apply lean background to facilitate kaizen events, create value stream maps, and coach teams on how to use lean tools for improvement.
• Conduct comprehensive engineering studies to assess production efficiencies and feasibility of design proposals. This includes analyzing customer requirements, interpreting technical drawings (CAD and SolidWorks), schematics, computer generated reports and recommending engineering alternatives.
• Reseach and analyze data such as customer design proposal requests and specifications to determine feasibility of design or application.
• Research, design, develop, manufacture and test devices.
• Maintain meticulous project documentation throughout the project lifecycle, from initiation (design) to closeout (cost estimates), ensuring accurate records are kept and operating procedures are implemented effectively.
• Utilize advanced engineering principles to develop and refine product designs, troubleshoot system malfunctions, and recommend design modifications for improved performance.
• Specify system components or direct medication of products to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications.
• Recommend design modifications to eliminate machine or system malfunctions.
• Establish and coordinate the maintenance and safety procedures, service schedule and supply of materials required to maintain equipment.
• Ability to create and/or troubleshoot PLC & HMI programs (AB, D-More, C-More)
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, participate in design reviews, and communicate findings to all levels of the organization.
• Plan. direct, and help establish electrical production testing.
• Review engineering drawings and documents.
• Fabricate simple to complex prototypes; set up laboratory tests requiring some ingenuity. Keep abreast of new and emerging technologies and materials.
• Gather, interpret data, and report analysis to management.
• Troubleshoot digital and analog electronic circuits.
• Research and develop solutions to electrical / technical problems by applying theories and principles of science and mathematics.
• Develop test strategies and procedures for test validation.
• Operate computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks.
• Investigate and test vendor's and competitor's products.
• Global alignment with Engineering leadership in the U.S.
• Attend and participate in company required meetings and training, seminars or educational activities to stay up to date on the latest developments, trends, regulations in the marketplace.
• Maintain neat, clean, and safe work area.
• Other essential duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical/ Electrical/ Industrial) or similar technical discipline
• 6+ years of demonstrated qualified experience within a manufacturing setting.
• First-hand leadership involvement in at least one successful enterprise lean transformation with experience in deploying lean culture in an organization.
• Demonstrated mastery of lean tools: Toyota Productions System and methodologies such as: A3 Development and Management, Process Flow Mapping, 5S/Visual Factory, TPM, SMED, Standard Work, Process Problem-Solving, Built-in Quality, Just in Time, Kaizen/Continuous Improvement
• Strong Mechanical and Electrical Engineering skills.
• Formal lean certification/ Green Belt/ Black Belt from a recognized independent technical organization or a reputed organization preferred.
• Strong ability in analyzing business processes, determining appropriate solutions and/or opportunities, and deployment of solutions.
• Ability to travel (valid passport).
• Customer service and ability to work collaboratively.
• High degree of independence & integrity.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
