Designation:
Safety Officer
1.
Develop and Implement Safety Policies:
Create and enforce safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
2.
Conduct Risk Assessments:
Identify potential hazards in the workplace through regular inspections and risk assessments. Analyse and evaluate risks to determine appropriate control measures.
3.
Safety Training:
Organize and conduct safety training programs for employees, including orientation for new hires and specialized training for high-risk tasks.
4.
Emergency Preparedness:
Develop and implement emergency response plans for various scenarios, such as fires, natural disasters, and medical emergencies. Conduct drills to ensure employees are prepared to respond effectively.
5.
Investigate Incidents:
Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses to determine root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
6.
Maintain Safety Records:
Keep accurate records of safety inspections, training sessions, incidents, and corrective actions taken. Ensure all documentation meets regulatory requirements.
7.
Provide Safety Advice:
Offer guidance and advice to management and employees on safety-related matters. Stay informed about new regulations, technologies, and best practices in occupational health and safety.
8.
Promote Safety Culture:
Foster a culture of safety throughout the organization by encouraging employee involvement, recognizing safety achievements, and promoting open communication about safety concerns.
9.
Inspect Safety Equipment:
Regularly inspect and maintain safety equipment, such as personal protective equipment (PPE), fire extinguishers, and emergency lighting, to ensure they are in good working condition.
10.
Collaborate with Regulatory Agencies:
Liaise with regulatory agencies and participate in inspections and audits to demonstrate compliance with safety standards.
Required qualifications and skills
- Bachelor's degree/ Diploma in safety, occupational health and safety, industrial hygiene or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in a safetyrelated role, preferably in an Indian context.
- Proficiency in safety auditing, inspection and identifying hazards.
- Familiar with compliance standards and other relevant safety regulations.
- Indepth knowledge of safety regulations, standards and best practices.
- Expertise in using and maintaining safety equipment like fire extinguishers, eye protection and hazardous material protection.
Salary:
₹15, ₹30,000.00 per month
