Jhpiego is seeking a highly motivated Research Associate based in New Delhi for its USAID-funded RISE project to lead and coordinate efforts in Monitoring Evaluation, and Learning efforts.

The Research Associate, operating under the Senior Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) Officer, will play an integral role in contributing to data collection, analysis, and research activities within the Health Security and AMR program.

This position provides a unique opportunity to collaborate closely with experienced MEL professionals while actively engaging in impactful research endeavor.


Responsibilities:

Data Collection and Validation:


  • Participate in the collection, validation, and quality assurance of quantitative and qualitative data from diverse project activities.
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and compliance with established data collection protocols.

Research Design and Execution:

  • Collaborate with the Senior MEL Officer in designing research methodologies, surveys, and assessments.
  • Contribute to the execution of research studies, ensuring adherence to ethical and scientific standards.

Data Analysis and Insights:

  • Assist in analyzing research data using appropriate statistical and analytical techniques.
  • Contribute to the interpretation of findings and their implications for project strategies.

Documentation and Reporting:


  • Contribute to the development of research reports, capturing methodologies, findings, and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with teams to prepare concise and insightful research summaries for various audiences.

Collaborative Learning Environment:


  • Collaborate closely with the Senior MEL Officer and project teams to contribute to the learning culture within the organization.
  • Share research insights and participate in knowledgesharing sessions.

Capacity Building and Training:

  • Engage in capacity-building sessions and training on research methodologies, data collection, and analysis.
  • Enhance skills and competencies aligned with the project's research agenda.

Research Ethics and Compliance:

  • Ensure research activities are compliant with established guidelines and protocols.

Support to MEL Activities:

  • Collaborate with the Senior MEL Officer to support MEL initiatives, data management, and reporting.
  • Assist in monitoring project indicators and contribute to MEL reports.

Miscellaneous:


  • Any tasks assigned by the supervisor or the head of the department of the Center for One Health.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in public health, social sciences, epidemiology, or a related field. Master's degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in research, data collection, and analysis, preferably within the public health or development sector.
  • Proficiency in data collection tools and techniques, and familiarity with research software (e.g., SPSS, Excel).
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret and communicate research findings effectively.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Familiarity with research ethics and protocols is desirable.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English is essential.
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities and the ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Familiarity with the Indian public health system, newer initiatives in the health sector, and relevant government policies/ strategies particularly the National Health Mission, and Ayushman Bharat
