Dietician/Nutritionist

Location: India


A dietician or nutritionist is responsible for assessing, planning, and implementing dietary programs to promote health and manage various health conditions.

They work with individuals or groups to provide personalized nutrition counseling, develop meal plans, and educate clients on healthy eating habits.

In India, dieticians or nutritionists may also specialize in cultural dietary practices and local cuisine.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Conducting nutrition assessments and evaluating clients' dietary needs, goals, and health conditions.
  • Developing personalized meal plans based on clients' dietary requirements, cultural preferences, and lifestyle.
  • Providing nutritional counseling and education to individuals or groups on topics such as weight management, sports nutrition, diabetes management, and healthy eating habits.
  • Monitoring clients' progress and adjusting meal plans as needed to achieve desired health outcomes.
  • Collaborating with other healthcare professionals, such as doctors and fitness trainers, to coordinate comprehensive care for clients.
  • Keeping abreast of current research and developments in nutrition science and incorporating evidencebased practices into dietary recommendations.
  • Conducting workshops, seminars, or public speaking engagements to promote nutrition awareness and healthy lifestyles in the community.
  • Maintaining accurate records of client consultations and adhering to professional and ethical standards in practice.

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, Food Science, or a related field.
  • Registration/certification with relevant regulatory bodies or professional associations, such as the Indian Dietetic Association (IDA) or the Indian Nutrition Association (INA).
  • Strong knowledge of nutrition principles, dietary guidelines, and food composition.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effectively interacting with clients and collaborating with healthcare teams.
  • Experience in conducting nutrition assessments, developing meal plans, and providing counseling is preferred.
  • Ability to adapt dietary recommendations to diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.
  • Proficiency in using nutrition assessment tools, software, and resources for meal planning and analysis.

Working Conditions:


  • Dieticians or nutritionists may work in various settings, including hospitals, clinics, fitness centers, community health programs, schools, or private practice.
  • Depending on the setting, work hours may vary, including regular office hours, evenings, or weekends to accommodate client appointments or events.

Job Types:
Full-time, Permanent


Pay:
₹10, ₹20,000.00 per month
