As an Agricultural Expert for the Cluster Village Development Project, you will play a crucial role in advancing sustainable farming practices and improving the livelihoods of farmers and villagers.

Your responsibilities will include mobilizing farmers, providing training on agricultural techniques and government schemes, managing farming tools and equipment, collaborating with government officials, and creating farmer producer group to promote organic and sustainable farming.

This role requires a deep understanding of agricultural practices, excellent communication skills, and the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders.


Key Responsibilities:


1.

Farmers Mobilization:


  • Identify and engage farmers within the cluster villages for project participation.
  • Organize meetings, workshops, and awareness sessions to explain the project's goals and benefits.
  • Establish strong relationships with farmers to foster trust and collaboration.

2.

Sustainable Farming Practices:


  • Educate farmers on sustainable agricultural techniques, including crop rotation, organic farming, and water conservation.
  • Provide guidance on pest and disease management using integrated pest management (IPM) methods.
  • Promote practices that enhance soil health, reduce environmental impact, and increase yield.

3.

Government Scheme Awareness and Support:


  • Conduct training sessions to educate farmers and villagers about relevant state and central government schemes for agriculture and rural development.
  • Facilitate the integration of government initiatives into local farming practices.

4.

Farming Tools and Equipment Management:


  • Oversee the distribution, maintenance, and proper utilization of farming tools and equipment provided by the project funders.
  • Train farmers on the correct usage and maintenance of tools for improved efficiency.

5.

Support for Project Staff:


  • Collaborate with other project team members to ensure holistic project objectives are met.
  • Share expertise with colleagues and provide agricultural insights to enhance the project's impact.

6.

Stakeholder Communication:


  • Communicate effectively with government officials such as Block Development Officers (BDOs), Tahsildars, and District Magistrates.
  • Advocate for the project's objectives and outcomes during discussions with relevant authorities.

7.

Farmer Producer Group Creation:


  • Organize and facilitate the formation of a farmer producer group consisting of 100 farmers.
  • Promote the adoption of organic and sustainable farming practices within the group.
  • Coordinate group activities, knowledge sharing, and collective marketing initiatives.
  • Facilitate Market Linkage.

8.

Nagrik Suvidha Kendra (NSK) Management:


  • Effectively operate the NSK, providing digital assistance, scheme information, and support to farmers, women, and villagers.
  • Organizing sessions on various topics for the community.
  • Address queries and concerns, guiding individuals through various government programs and digital platforms.

9.

Monitoring and Evaluation:


  • Track and document the progress of participants throughout the training programs.
  • Collect and analyze data related to participant performance and engagement.
  • Provide regular reports to the project management team on training outcomes and areas for improvement.

Qualifications and Skills:

Bachelor's degree in Agriculture or related field.

2-3 years of experience in agricultural extension, farmer engagement, or rural development.

Strong knowledge of sustainable farming practices, crop management, and pest control.

Familiarity with government schemes related to agriculture and rural development.

Excellent communication skills for engaging with farmers, villagers, and government officials.

Proficiency in digital literacy to maintain records, report progress, and access relevant information.

Fluency in local languages to facilitate clear communication with community members.

Problem-solving abilities and adaptability to address diverse farming challenges.


Requirements:

Laptop required for project management and reporting tasks.

Prior experience working with NGOs or community development initiatives.

Knowledge of local agricultural conditions, challenges, and opportunities.

Experience in integrating technology and digital solutions into agricultural projects.
