This is a great opportunity for someone who is looking for responsibility, design freedom, and the hunger to create amazing spaces and revolutionize the definition of workspace.
We are searching for an Associate Architect who wants to learn and engage with all phases of the design and construction process from programming to design through the bid process and construction administration.
In this role, you will be collaborating with engineering, construction, design, logistics, operations and development teams as well as other inter-departmental groups.
Externally, you will interface with contracted consultants (MEP, Structural, local Architect of Record, and GC's)Roles and Responsibilities:
- Design, document, and execute multiple simultaneous high quality projects, by collaborating with all internal and external teams.
- Take part in forming the conceptual framework for the project.
- Working towards capital improvement of existing Wework buildings.
- Incorporate into projects WeWork standards, goals, and brand ideals
- Design, coordinate, and document custom spaces and elements when needed
- Communicate regularly to management and the project team with project updates, for example, of the status of each project, potential issues on site, etc
- Work alongside and receive mentorship from a more experienced architect on your team
- Flag any issues that may arise during the entire project, from deal release to opening, take ownership of them, and work together with your team internally to resolve them
- With supervision, be responsible for determining and organizing functional requirements, providing programming and space planning, and code analysis
- With supervision, produce all design and handoff packages for a project utilizing Revit, including programming, layout, AoR handoff and operations
- Maintain High documentation standards, both internally and externally by QCing external consultants' deliverables and submissions.
- Support the Real Estate team in the due diligence process as needed
- Participate in project teams that include highprofile/highvisibility projects
Education and Desired Qualifications
- B.Arch from a reputed institute
- A commitment to delivering outstanding high quality design
- Ambitious, outofthebox thinker
- Interest in rule based design refined over multiple iterations
- Reliable, focused, and detailoriented
- Some demonstrable experience in design documentation
- Interest in learning building and accessibility codes, and zoning
