1.

Patient Care:

  • Assess and monitor patients eye conditions, including visual acuity, eye pain, and other relevant symptoms
- .Administer eye medications, eye drops, and ointments as prescribed by the ophthalmologist.

  • Conduct preoperative and postoperative care for patients undergoing eye surgeries, such as cataract surgery or laser eye surgery.
  • Provide wound care, dressings, and other treatments to promote healing and prevent infections.
  • Educate patients and their families about eye care, medications, and postoperative instructions.
  • Diagnostic and Therapeutic Support:
  • Assist ophthalmologists during eye examinations, diagnostic tests, and specialized procedures, such as Tonometry (measuring intraocular pressure), visual field testing, and Funduscopy.
  • Prepare and maintain the necessary equipment and instruments for eye procedures.
  • Perform basic vision screenings and visual acuity tests.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop treatment plans and interventions for patients with eye conditions.
  • Documentation and Record-Keeping:
  • Accurately document patients medical history, eye examinations, treatments, and medications administered.
  • Maintain electronic health records and ensure all relevant information is updated promptly.
  • Prepare reports and summaries for ophthalmologists and other healthcare providers.
  • Patient Education and Counseling:
  • Educate patients on proper eye care practices, including hygiene, eye safety, and prevention of eye injuries.
  • Provide information about the use of prescribed medications, potential side effects, and followup care.
  • Offer emotional support to patients and their families, addressing their concerns and answering questions regarding eye conditions, procedures, and recovery.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
  • Collaborate with ophthalmologists, optometrists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and comprehensive patient care.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and colleagues to establish rapport and ensure the delivery of patientcentered care.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to the development of care plans and strategies.

Requirements:


  • Knowledge of eye anatomy, common eye conditions, and eye care procedures.
  • Familiarity with diagnostic equipment used in ophthalmology.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fastpaced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
