Ensuring appropriate maintenance and upkeep of machinery for consistent, reliable and safe performance. To conceptualize, plan, execute and review capital projects as per plan without time and cost overrun. Co
- ordinate with SCM department for effective spares procurement and management.


Key Result Areas/Accountabilities

Supporting Actions
Maintenance Activities- Coordination with other Department HOD for shut down/Break down activities.

  • Review of preventive maintenance schedules. Achieve maximum reliability of the equipment by implementing proper maintenance program.
  • To maintain the plant within planned breakdown (average/month).
  • Guiding concerned people in troubleshooting and analysis of failures
  • Proper planning of spare parts to carry out uninterrupted plant operation.
  • To ensure R & M cost within budget.
  • Vendor development for cost effective spares and for import substitution.
  • Find out new avenues for better equipment performance and improvements


Product Quality- Ensure all equipment are in good health and is suitable for delivering its rated capacity at required quality and operation parameters.


  • To ensure the reliability of instrumentation system.
  • To investigate and carry out equipment modification to suit customer requirements
Projects/Developmental Activities- Carry out process developments for production increase and reduction in raw material/energy consumption.

  • To assist and guide SH Electrical in planning, procuring, erection and commissioning of all Capex projects.
  • Implement the recommendations of the technical audits carried out by any third party


ISO and OHSAS System UpkeepEnergy Procurement and Conservation Activities- To upkeep and maintain standards as per ISO , ISO-14000 and OHSAS-18000 for electrical department.


  • Assist SH Electrical
  • Utility & Power for getting Electric power and yearly audit done, energy audits as per schedule and plan for improvement projects.
  • Analysis of energy consumption for the entire Machine center.
  • Also to identify the area for energy saving. Corrective actions if any, Implementation of energy saving measures and project identified.
Safety- Monitor and eliminate the unsafe acts and conditions for zero accidents and incidents in the department.

  • Ensure safety standards are followed within the department.
  • Counsel / initiate action against defaulters in following safety standards
  • Ensure harmonious relations in the department. Hazard & risk assessment of all maintenance activities.
  • Monitor safety procedures laid out are strictly followed by the team.
  • Follow Safety permit system
  • Analyze accidents if any and direct preventive & corrective actions.
  • Propagate use of safe and clean work habits.
Projects - Capex Administrator- Create Project Management system to ensure project delivery as per plan.

  • To coordinate planning, procuring, erection and commissioning of all capex projects.
  • Monitor progress of planned and strategic Capex projects through periodic reviews.
  • Coordinate with MCOE for reviews and progress of projects.
  • To conduct timely meetings and update unit head and take his suggestions.
  • Ensure and monitor action plan as per unit head guidance to achieve cash flow as per sanctioned budget.
HRD activities and discipline.

Select, Train, Develop and Motivate all people to provide a continuous competent workforce that will meet current and future challenges- Assist HR section assessment and promotion of operatives and Manager-Electrical.


  • Assist the area in charge for implementation of annual skill development training class for operatives.
  • Initiate disciplinary actions against operatives as and when required.
  • Maintain the administration of the electrical maintenance department and control the overtime below the target.
  • Counseling operatives for improvement of their performance

Qualifications:

Bachelor Of Engineering


Minimum Experience Level:

15-20 Years
