This a key role, business partnering with the CTO, Technology Director, and Brand Technology Partners, and the wider Group Technology function, providing finance leadership on Technology spending across the Group.

The role will ensure Technology spending both centrally and within the Business Divisions is understood, controlled, and supervised. It will need to develop a full understanding of spend and services.

The role will ensure Technology investments are in line with Group and Technology strategy, and support cases from inception to the end of the project cycle to ensure benefits are delivered.


What you'll be doing:


  • Analyse and supervise Technology project spend across the group. Develop the monthly reporting suite to provide information on annual, committed and project spend. Support the Technology leadership teams to track and monitor the delivery of projects, supervising delivery costs and project benefits.
  • Work alongside accounting teams to manage the month end reporting cycle for Group Technology to ensure spend is supervised and controlled in line with expectations. Develop an efficient process across the group to enable timely and insightful review of Technology spend.
  • Lead the forecasting and budgeting cycles for Group Technology spend, understanding the key drivers and initiatives. Track and monitor Technology risks and opportunities. Present budgets, analysis and commentary to key partners including Technology leadership teams and Group.
  • Business Partner for the Technology leadership team communicating with senior leaders across Tech and the wider business (e.g. Finance Directors) so experience of working across the matrix, global teams is critical.
  • Support the development of Technology case throughout the approval process in line with the group's approval limits. Work with the Technology and Finance teams to drive a step change in the quality and assessment of cases, obtaining a full understanding of delivery costs and benefits in partnership with the Brand Technology Partners.
  • Become a center of expertise on the Technology capitalization policy to ensure that the accounts reflect the correct treatment of CAPEX and OPEX. Be able to advise the Technology and Finance communities and ensure they adhere to policy.
  • Support and handle the Technology recharging process, to promote clear and relevant spend analysis by business unit.
  • Work with the Technology Leadership team to provide insight into spend profile, challenge and see opportunities for cost savings and optimization.
  • Support the Head of Procurement and the Technology leadership team to continuously review and handle supplier contracts, and feeding into the procurement process.
  • Regular review of reporting and accounting processes and procedures to optimize reporting.

What we're looking for:


  • Qualified finance professional, preferably CA qualified in industry/commerce
  • Ability to build strong working relationships and connect with people at all levels across the business.
  • Project Management experience is must to have
  • Proven experience in Excel
  • Previous experience of business partnering within a portfolio of international companies
  • Able to work independently across Group business divisions and functions.
  • Handson with good attention to detail and desire for accuracy, and to deal with ambiguity.
  • Excellent excel and analysis skills, experience delivering reports from a Business Intelligence tool would be advantageous.
  • Previous experience of working on IT/Group projects
