Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Business Controller to join our finance team. The Business Controller will play a key role in driving financial performance by providing insightful analysis, strategic recommendations, and financial planning support across various functional areas including sales reporting, budgeting, forecasting, production controlling, supply chain analytics, finance reporting, management reporting, project controlling, consolidation, cash forecasting, and fixed cost controlling. You need to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

We supply our customers around the world with seed and grain processing solutions, ranging from single machines to big turn-key projects. With more than 65 years of experience, we are among the leading suppliers of seed and grain processing solutions across the globe. You will be employed by our associated company Fowler Westrup (India) Pvt. Ltd. In Malur.
Reporting to:
The Business controller will report to the Finance Manager of Westrup in Denmark. A junior controller in India will report to you. You spent 100% of your time working for Westrup Denmark and subsidiaries. Travel flexibility is required, around 8 to 10 weeks a year you will work in Denmark (on average once a quarter). The engineering group is a fast-growing group with several locations all over the world which also gives career possibilities for your role in the future.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Reporting / Budgeting:
· Monitor actual performance against forecasts and budgets and provide variance analysis and explanations.
· Compare the forecast/Budget with Pipeline and report abnormalities in Projections from sales.
· Collaborate with sales and finance teams to develop accurate sales forecasts and budgets based on market trends, historical data, and business objectives.
· Responsible to make proposal for yearly price list and propose price increase in line with increase in product cost and report any major cost increase/decrease for Westrup Machines / Spare parts.
Production Controlling:
· Work closely with operations and production teams to monitor and control production costs, optimize resource utilization, and ensure efficient operations.
· Develop and implement strategies to improve production efficiency and reduce costs while maintaining quality standards.
· Analyze Machine cost against BOM and report variance in Material and Labor cost.
· Prepare production KPIs and prepare trend analysis and inputs for improvement in Productivity and Efficiency.
Supply Chain Analytics:
· Analyze supply chain data to identify opportunities for cost savings, process improvements, and inventory optimization.
· Collaborate with procurement and logistics teams to ensure timely delivery of materials and minimize supply chain disruptions.
Project Controlling:
· Manage financial aspects of Project Business, including Revenue recognition, Project Cost completion and ensuring adherence to project timelines and objectives to meet the desired Revenue for Project business.
· Assist Project head/Manager by analyzing Project Risk and Report Project cost deviation on monthly basis and ensure reported contribution within achievable range.
Finance Reporting and Management Reporting:
· Prepare accurate and timely inputs for financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, to support decision-making and financial analysis.
· Provide management with regular updates on financial performance, key metrics, and actionable insights.
Cash Forecasting and Budgeting:
· Develop cash flow forecasts to support liquidity management and ensure adequate funding for operations and investments to stakeholders.
Fixed Cost Controlling:
· Monitor and control fixed costs to ensure alignment with budgetary targets and business objectives and report major deviations monthly.
· Identify opportunities for cost-saving initiatives and process improvements.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field; MBA or professional certification (e.g., CMA) preferred.
Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in financial planning and analysis, business controlling, or related roles.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and trends.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions and levels of the organization.
Understanding of consolidation, eliminations, and related party transactions.
Proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting techniques, SQL and ERP systems (Westrup uses IFS Application).
Understanding of process flows in a production company is preferable in a make-to-order situation.
Proven ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
