The R&D Digital and Tech remit has expanded over the past 2 years, and to position GSK for the future, The change will strengthen R&D Tech, to provide more strategic impact, focus, accountability, and improved decision making in the use of Digital, Data and Analytics (DDA) to strengthen the pipeline.


Architecture is a key role in transforming R&D Tech in the modernization strategy and it is an exciting time to be part of the team.

The
Principal Enterprise Architect, Scientific Digital & Tech **is a key role in our journey.

  • As an Enterprise Architect, you will guide Product teams on technical and information architectures. You will provide leadership to link the business mission, strategy, and processes of GSK R&D research solutions to its IT strategy with plans, models and solutions that ensure the current and future needs of the research organization and IT will be met in an efficient, secure, sustainable, agile, and adaptable manner._
  • This role will provide you the opportunity to lead key activities to progress your career.

These responsibilities include some of the following:
_
- _ Maintain current knowledge of GSK architecture components as well as our key cloud platforms._
- _ Ensure architectures defined for systems comply with standards and policies_
- _ Work with product teams by contributing to architecture plans._
- _ Be an active participant in the Scrum of Scrums and key projects in solution groups._
- _ Ensure that architecture artefacts and decision-making reflect the GSK wide view and longer-term timeframe when appropriate._
- _ Align IT to the business to achieve strategies and objectives such as: improved data integration and data quality, simpler and standard architectures._
- _ Maximise reuse and contribute to the life-cycle of existing standards and services_
- _ Approve architecture and standard exceptions while ensuring each is justifiable._
- _ Educate key IT and business stakeholders on global and local architecture, the value proposition and alignment with business and IT goals and objectives_
- _ Work with other architects and product teams to align R&D's operations with IT by improving the IT infrastructure and optimizing business operations._
- _ Catalog develop, coordinate and communicate enterprise and information architecture models, representations, capabilities, components, and plans in order for R&D Tech to progress their product plans._
- _ Work with the engineers and product owners to ensure projects align with the strategic target architecture plans as well as help produce effectively designed solutions._
- _ Embrace the principle of "Loosely Coupled, Highly Cohesive design" to Catalog, Develop, Coordinate and Communicate enterprise and information architectures, representations, capabilities, components, and plans in order for R&D Tech to progress their product plans._

Basic Qualifications:

  • We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:_
- _ Bachelor's Degree in computer science, engineering, or similar discipline_
-
_ 10+ years relevant pharma research experience and / or exposure to enterprise architecture in an IT organization _
-
_Experience with the pharma research process (Discovery, Product Development and Clinical Trials Supply)_
- _ Track record in successful architecture and design_
- _ Track record in delivering business impact through IT enabled solutions _
-
_Experience of Agile, DevOps and Automation (Jira, CI/CD, Git, Docker, Kubernetes, etc)_
-
_ Experience with security standards and security best practice (OWASP, OAUTH, SSO, etc)_
-
_ Proven experience with architecting solutions on Azure or GCP_
- _ Experience with all artefacts of modelling and enterprise_

_ Strong influencing and communication skills_
