- Develop web-based systems using Ruby On Rails in a multi-tiered environment, handling front-end components, business logic, workflow logic, backend systems, and integration endpoints.
- Create user interfaces with a focus on usability, security, cross-browser compatibility, and performance.
- Analyze operational feasibility, define problems, gather requirements, develop solutions, and propose them.
- Follow coding standards and security practices according to the software development methodology and release processes.
- Participate in peer code reviews, providing comments and suggestions to add value.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve goals.
- Develop, integrate, and deploy object-oriented system solutions for web applications.
- Document solutions by writing clear documentation, flowcharts, diagrams, and code.
- Conduct technical root cause analysis and provide corrective actions.
- Review product information for technical accuracy.
- Mentor less experienced Software Engineers.
- Confer with users to study systems flow and processes.
- Utilize software engineering tools in the development process.
- Design and develop new core functionality.
- Demonstrate problem-solving skills and offer solutions to problems.
- Perform other assigned duties.
- Utilize Git for source version control.
- BSc or higher in Computer Science or related field.
- 5+ years of industry experience building web applications with RoR, Python, or PHP.
- Professional experience with relational databases and SQL.
- Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and related frameworks/libraries.
- Initiative in problem-solving.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience in documenting software design and requirements.
- Ability to investigate solutions for maintainability.
- Working knowledge of Java, Ruby, C#, .NET, and databases like Postgres or Oracle.
- Experience with object-oriented programming technologies for web applications.
- Proficiency in Java, ORM, web services, and continuous integration.
- Desire for continuous learning.
- Work experience in software development.
- Stay updated through training, publications, and professional networks.
- Contribute to open-source projects.
- Sit or stand for extended periods at a workstation.
