    What will you do:

    The Senior Engineer Kubernetes plays a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and overseeing a Cloud Native Kubernetes-based platform ecosystem and solutions for our organization. This entails creating and executing containerization strategies, refining developer workflows, designing and deploying the Kubernetes platform, and ensuring the robustness and scalability of the Kubernetes infrastructure in line with contemporary GitOps practices.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Execute platform capabilities and containerization strategy using Kubernetes, Docker, service mesh, and other cutting-edge containerization tools.
    • Collaborate with engineering counterparts to devise architectural patterns and templates for the application runtime platform such as K8s Cluster topology, traffic shaping, API, CI/CD, and observability that adhere to DevSecOps principles.
    • Automate the deployment and management of Kubernetes infrastructure utilizing tools like Terraform, Jenkins, and Crossplane to establish self-service platform workflows.
    • Contribute as a team member of the micro-services platform team to closely cooperate with the Security and Compliance department in outlining controls.
    • Develop self-service platform capabilities emphasizing developer workflows including API, service mesh, external DNS, cert management, and general K8s lifecycle management.
    • Engage in cross-functional IT Architecture group conversations that evaluate designs from an enterprise cloud platform perspective.
    • Enhance the Kubernetes platform infrastructure to ensure high availability and scalability.

    What we are looking for

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in a STEM field.
    • 7+ years of progressive experience encompassing development and design within cloud computing domains.
    • 3+ years of hands-on experience in developing cloud native platform capabilities based on Kubernetes (EKS and/or AKS preferred).
    • Solid Infrastructure as Code (IaC) background on public Cloud platforms like AWS and/or Azure.
    • Experience working on high-scale, highly available, cloud-native, multi-tenant, infrastructure platforms on public cloud, particularly in consumer-oriented businesses.
    • Proficiency in constructing platforms using tools such as Kubernetes, Istio, OpenShift, Linux, Helm, Terraform, and CI/CD.
    • Experience with large-scale, mission-critical products running across public clouds (AWS, Azure) and private data centers is a bonus.
    • Hands-on development expertise in languages like Go, Scala, Java, Ruby, or Python.
    • Prior involvement in teams re-architecting and migrating monolithic applications to microservices is advantageous.
    • Prior exposure to Observability, utilizing tools like Prometheus, Elasticsearch, Grafana, DataDog, or Zipkin, is beneficial.
    • Thorough understanding of Continuous Development and Deployment within AWS and/or Azure.
    • Familiarity with basic Linux kernel and Windows server operating systems.
    • Proficiency in working with bash and PowerShell scripting.
    • Must demonstrate a results-driven attitude, be a quick learner, and possess self-starting capabilities.
    • Experience in Cloud engineering is a strong asset.
