What is the Supervisor - Investment Operations for?- Supervise the Security Maintenance Group by providing direction, training and staff development, coordinating workflow, reviewing critical reports and technical procedures, and resolving complex security maintenance problems.

Ensure the accuracy, technical quality and timeliness of all security, transaction, and corporate action information by following IO policies, procedures, internal controls and complying with rules and regulatory requirements.

Manage the coordination between the Security Maintenance Group and other groups within the organization.

What are the ongoing responsibilities of Supervisor - Investment Operations responsible?- Supervise the daily security maintenance functions by reviewing daily work, resolving and addressing technical and logístical issues as they occur, thereby ensuring the accuracy of the Portfolio and Trading systems, and technical quality and timeliness of all functions in compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements.- Manage the coordination between the Security Maintenance group and other groups within the organization (i.e. Investment Accounting, Corporate Actions, Pricing Department, Trade & Settlement, Data Integration, Legal) to ensure that all security maintenance issues are resolved timely and accurately.- Supervise a staff of individuals with varying levels of experience and backgrounds. Responsible for the training and development of assigned personnel. Establish career plans with staff.- Plan and set departmental goals. Assist manager in developing and improving procedures given the current systems utilized and new systems being developed. Recommend and implement changes/additions to group procedures to increase efficiency and/or accuracy.- Manage and participate in various departmental projects. Identify project objective, resources and barriers, and implement project strategies.

Ensure successful and timely completion of projects.- Crisis management _- Ability to recommend and implement a plan of action to meet objective when the systems are down, system processes are not functioning or other uncertainties in the system environment.- Business Continuity_ - Provide direction and make decisions during unexpected events.

Assist in developing and maintaining business continuity procedures.- Strategic Planning_ - Participate in the strategic planning of the Investment Operations department.- Risk & Control _- Analyzes control gaps and weaknesses and proposes solutions to reduce the likelihood of error occurrence and ensures modified processes are implemented and training is provided before changes are made to the production environment.

Leads efforts with manager to analyze root causes of errors and controls gaps and identifies scope and priority of control enhancement initiatives and ensures implementation to reduce errors for future process outputs.

What ideal qualifications, skills & experience would help someone to be successful?- Graduate or bachelor's degree or equivalent experience- Post graduate level courses in accounting, finance, or management is highly viewed- Three years of supervisory and/or leadership experience preferable

  • Experience:_
  • Three to Five years of financial experience in securities Maintenance business required
  • Supervisory experience preferable
  • Sound knowledge of financial markets and various security types
