    JOB DESCRIPTION

    Head - Supplier Technical Assistance

    ROLE DESCRIPTION

    This role is with development team of Sun Mobility and will be an opportunity, to work with the supplier selection and coordination, throughout the Product Lifecycle. This position will lead the supplier activities within Sun Mobility.

    QUALIFICATION

    The candidate must be a Graduate or Postgraduate in Mechanical, Mechatronics or similar stream, with 10+ years of overall experience and at least 7 years in Supplier Quality Assurance. Individual from Automotive and Aviation Industry shall be given priority.

    ROLES and RESPONSIBILITIES

    1. Liaising with supplier to carry out assessment audits, prepare DFM (Design For Manufacturing) with supplier and prepare DFA (Design For Assembly) with engineering.

    2. Ensuring completion of PPAP, at supplier end.

    4. Work on Preparation & execution of FTG (Fixture, gauge & tools).

    5. Co-ordinating with Engineering (Design and Manufacturing Engineers) team, to define process parameters and criteria, to ensure supplier process capability is effective, to meet product and process requirements.

    6. Handle new product launch and ensure suppliers can deliver to the required quality standards.

    7. Carrying out on-site supplier visits, for root cause analysis and verification of corrective actions, and review supplier manufacturing processes, by collaborating with suppliers, on process improvement and value enhancement opportunities, to ensure nil supplier quality issues.

    8. Promote the use of customer preferred techniques, for continuous improvement such as Lean, Six-Sigma, Poka-Yoke (Error Proofing), Measurement System Analysis and FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis).

    9. Manage the development and refinement of Design and Process FMEA's (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis).

    10. Review documentation, of inspection results across all areas. In appropriate functional areas, this refers to supporting inspection and test status requirements defined by regulations, engineering product specifications or Control Plans, PPAP approval or product warrant submission.

    13. Monitor and report on supplier product quality and performance, understanding any commercial issues and impacts.

    14. The candidate shall manage the Supplier Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to developments such as customer PPM (Parts per Million), supplier PPM, supplier problem solving on time, cost recovery and supplier warranty indicators.

    15. Reviewing and evaluation of supplier quality data, to identify process improvement opportunities within the supply chain.

    16. Updating on constant basis to current and developing manufacturing and engineering trends that concern product quality.

    17. Engage in personal continuous training and development, and conduct benchmarking studies, to determine best practices/designs and future trends.

    18. Be in sync with current and up to date on any changes, that may affect the supply and demand of needed products and materials and advise others of any impact.

    19. The candidate must ensure that the function operates in accordance with any health, safety and environmental policies and procedures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of humans.

    20. Negotiation & finalizing agreements, related to Quality – Quality Audit Agreement, CSR, AOI, QIP, etc. and establishing benchmarks and targets, for Cost of Quality for each component.

    21. Work on team management by leading to achieve, the established targets and carry out audits to ensure targets are achieved.

    22. The candidate shall create and provide crisp MIS on agreed frequencies – D/W/M/Q/Y.

    23. Establish, create, and maintain processes and documentation as per IATF 16949, ISO 45001, ISO 14001.

    REQUIREMENT

    1. Posses Design Knowledge in field of Mechanical, Heat & Mass Transfer and Mechatronics

    2. Posses knowledge on Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA), Statistical Process Control (SPC), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), DFM & DFA

    3. Carry technical expertise expected on quality systems, electronics, electrical, mechanical, Li Ion Cells apart from general Management.

    4. The candidate must have technical ability, to understand SOR and be SPOC, for suppliers and help them establish, develop, and supply products, of desired quality, maintaining equilibrium of Q-C-D.

    5. Working experience in Supplier Quality Assurance or STA team for Mechanical and Automation with frugal design engineering concepts.

    6. The candidate must have experience working with Injection Moulding, Sheet Metal Fabrication, Thermoforming & Machining.
