As an ITI Fitter for the Maintenance department of a company based in Baroda, Gujarat, and into the business of machined products like connectors, lugs, and neutral bars, you will be responsible for a range of tasks related to the assembly, maintenance, and repair of machinery.


  • Your main duties may include interpreting 3D drawings to assemble machines, performing drilling and tapping operations, and using a vernier caliper to take accurate measurements.
  • You will also be responsible for maintaining and repairing machinery to ensure that it operates efficiently and effectively.
  • In addition, you may need to troubleshoot machinery issues, replace defective parts, and perform routine maintenance tasks such as lubrication and cleaning.


To be successful in this role, you should have a strong understanding of mechanical principles, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

You should also have excellent attention to detail, good communication skills, and a willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes.

KPI for the Position are

  • Equipment downtime: The amount of time that machinery is out of service due to maintenance or repair issues. The goal is to minimize downtime and ensure that machinery is operating efficiently and effectively.
  • Mean time between failures (MTBF): The average time that a machine operates before experiencing a failure or breakdown. The goal is to increase the MTBF by performing regular maintenance, replacing worn parts, and addressing issues before they lead to major failures.
  • Preventive maintenance completion rate: The percentage of scheduled preventive maintenance tasks that are completed on time. The goal is to ensure that all necessary maintenance tasks are performed to prevent breakdowns and prolong the life of machinery.
  • Accuracy of machine assembly: The number of machines assembled correctly on the first attempt. The goal is to minimize errors and ensure that machinery is assembled to the required specifications.
  • Time to complete machine assembly: The amount of time it takes to assemble a machine. The goal is to optimize the assembly process and reduce the time it takes to complete each machine.
  • Accuracy of measurements: The number of measurements taken accurately using a vernier caliper. The goal is to ensure that all measurements are accurate to prevent errors in machine assembly or repair.
  • Number of defects identified and resolved: The number of defects identified during maintenance or repair activities and resolved to prevent future issues. The goal is to reduce the number of defects and improve the overall reliability of machinery.
  • These KPIs can help the ITI Fitter and the Maintenance department to monitor their performance, identify areas for improvement, and take proactive steps to ensure that machinery is operating efficiently and effectively.
