    Description
    Software Development Manager - Routing Platform Software


    As a Software Development Manager, will be responsible for leading a team of engineers in design, development, test, and deployment of platform software team.

    Experience in managing talented engineering team for platform software design and development, working with cross functional teams like HW teams for board bring-up; test engineering to ensure the quality of the platform software; know the processes for productizing new HW is required.

    Relevant experience in leading/managing networking product development is essential. Any prior experience with HW development will be big plus.

    Engineering Managers are pragmatic visionaries who can translate business needs into workable technology solutions.

    A successful candidate will have an established background in developing customer-facing experiences, a strong technical ability, excellent project and people management skills, great communication skills, and a motivation to achieve results in a fast paced environment.


    Key Responsibilities:
    Responsible for the over-all systems product development life cycle including customer support.
    Management and execution against project plans and delivery commitments;Maintain productive engagement/connect with engineering team & Manage the day-to-day activities of the engineering teamsManagement of departmental resources, staffing, mentoring, and enhancing and maintaining best-of-class global engineering teamsWork closely with the engineers and other engineering managers to architect and develop the best technical design and approachReport on status of development, quality, operations, and system performance to senior management

    12+YearsProficiency with device drivers, system bring-up, FreeBSD/Linux internals.
    Preferred – Experience with optics, WAN side technologiesIn-depth knowledge of data networking, e.g., TCP/IP, Ethernet, and Routing etc.
    Understanding of Ethernet, OTN, SONET etc. technologies desiredStrong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
    Strong in C, C++ programming, OO analysis & design, data structures and system debugging skills.

    Good understanding of firmware, hardware level details for Optics, PCIe, SPI, I2C, Retimers, FPGA, CPLD, MDIO, Flash DriverPrior software development experience on networking products would be a plus.
