    Description
  • Manages the design, implementation, and ongoing management of
    mainly Cisco environment, including LAN, WAN, and Wireless
    Environments. Coordinates with networking vendors to ensure
    appropriate platform integration and performance. Makes
    recommendations to senior management on new technologies and
    products for enhancement of the network.
  • Leads and participates in the installation of Network systems and
    equipment for new facilities and expansions. Tests, debugs, and
    analyses performance, and documents infrastructure components.
  • Develop network infrastructure installation procedures to ensure
    successful integration of systems hardware/software. Develops and

    • recommends technical strategies and solutions to maintain and/or
    expand service levels.

  • Monitors and analyses network and provides results on a regular basis.
    Takes corrective action to improve data network.
  • Responds to emergency situations and can perform effectively
    troubleshooting during production outages.
  • Assist in guiding, training, instructing, and assisting others at peer or
    lower levels on technical issues and products.
  • Other duties as assigned.
    This role involves client interaction. The scope of products/vendors covers –
    Primarily Cisco (Routing/Switching), F5 Load Balancers (LTM, ASM, APM,
    GTM)
    Secondary:
    One of the following firewalls Palo Alto, FortiGate, Cisco ASA, Cisco
    Firepower
    Cisco / Meraki (Wireless), Cisco ACI – Added Advantage
    Accountabilities:
  • Act on Incidents reported by our network management tools.
  • Act on Incidents reported by the customer (via our service desk)
  • Proactively test & upgrade software on various devices
  • Analyse capacity management reports & propose improvements.
  • Prepare and execute Change requests.
  • Remotely Configure new devices
  • Interact with multiple teams (Helpdesk, Customer, Service delivery
    Mgr.)
  • Make technical advisory/designs for customer network migrations.
  • Make technical advisory to improve customer security environment.
  • Communicate & raise incidents to 3the party (vendors/telecom
    providers)
  • Create and update documentation sets.
  • Propose improvement plans (technical & human activity)
  • Proactively seek guidance from peers and seniors where required.
  • Team presentations on your activities
  • Propose improvements for our network management tools /
    Configuration.
  • Analyse reporting before used by Service Delivery Manager
  • Understand vendor product/solution evolutions
    Core Skills
  • Minimum 8 years relevant experience (see list of vendors)
  • Hands-on experience working in an ITIL-structured organization
    dealing with Incident / Change / Problem management.
  • Hands-on experience in handling major IT infrastructure vendor
    products such as Cisco, F5, Fortinet , Palo Alto.
  • Expert with implementing and supporting routing protocols.
  • Experience with Wireshark or other protocol analyzers.
  • Configuring network & security devices with end-to-end security in
    mind.
  • Configuring end-to-end Quality of Service
  • Troubleshoot using traffic analyzers, NetFlow collector, capacity
    management tools.
  • Capable of performing and assisting others with structured
    troubleshooting
  • Big IP architecture and topology
  • F5 Local Traffic Manager (LTM)
  • F5 Global Traffic Manager (GTM)
  • F5 Application Policy Manager (APM)
  • F5 rules
  • F5 Web Accelerator
  • Experience using tools for analyzing layer 7 protocols.
  • Experience performing TCP/IP analysis through packet captures.
  • Ethernet troubleshooting at the switch and interface level.
  • Ability to analyze DNS resolution.
  • Vulnerability remediation on LTM and GTM
  • Major upgrades and bug fixes with all the listed primary and
    secondary products.
  • Incident Report Document writing.
  • Documentation (MS Word) & drawing (MS Visio) updates
  • Participating in Team and customer meetings.
